Just getting your opinions, do you prefer to airbrush or handpaint your PYO’s or a combination of both? I’m going to be starting my own PYO’s soon (as soon as my hunny can get his airbrush fixed).

October 1, 2007 at 1:58 am #622570I’ve never used an airbrush, but I’d love to try sometime. :3
October 1, 2007 at 2:10 am #622571I prefer brush painting mine…some people are good with airbrush…I am not one of them…

Ditto. I might get one if I’d use it more than I know I would
October 1, 2007 at 4:00 am #622573I handpaint. I have PYOs that were airbrushed and I dont like the hazyness of them. I love the ones that I got that are handpainted with a little airbrushing. Lokie did one like that and its a stunner. No fog at all.
October 1, 2007 at 4:20 am #622574I use brushes on mine. From mid. size brushes to a tiny little brush for the fine details!
October 1, 2007 at 5:26 am #622575I hand paint all mine. I’ve never used an airbrush before, but I’m very finicky about details and brushes are better for that. I usually use three brushes: A large one for a base coat, and then small and very small.
October 1, 2007 at 6:35 am #622576All of mine are handpainted, but one of these days I’d like to save up for an airbrush and start painting with a combination of both – I think that would be the best of both worlds!

-J R R TolkienOctober 1, 2007 at 12:46 pm #622577I’d like to learn the airbrush too… but I’m afraid I’ll paint everything but the PYO!
Right now, I strictly use handbrushes.
Read my books! Volume 1 and 2 of A Dragon Medley are available now.

lol! I hear ya there! I’d probably end up accidently painting one of the cats or kids! lol and the PYO would still be white and clean! LOL
October 1, 2007 at 2:48 pm #622579I haven’t done any yet but I think the combination looks best. Good luck Jasmine.
October 1, 2007 at 3:19 pm #622580Mine are basecoated only with an airbrush (usually just a solid white) just to help prevent my detail work from soaking into the gypsum. The rest is all panitbrushes.
