So–I bought myself an airbrush because I’ve wanted one for a long time and Blick’s has a really good deal on an Iwata airbrush set that includes a double-action gravity-fed airbrush, a compressor, a how-to video, paints, cleaner, and some other stuff. I want to be able to use it on PYO’s, but I wanted to practice. So, I bought a random variety of knick-knacks from a thrift store and I repainted one today. While I still need lots of practice, I think it turned out well.
Original bunny from the thrift store:

January 13, 2013 at 5:25 pm #891643Thank you! I thought I’d try something with a complex color rather than a pattern. I don’t think I’m ready for dappling, yet. What was fun was how close the color is to the photo. I mixed the color like I cook–a little of this, a little of that… In this case, I used an opaque white mixed with a transparent black, brown, and violet for the base, and then used the transparent black with a bit more brown and some violet for the points.
