Though larger than most, this was still too small to be considered a close call. It might be very unfortunate for anyone it might land on, but trying to track this sized meteor/meteorite is like trying to track the motes of dust that eventually keep our pretties from being as shiny as they once were. It WAS spectacular, though. Something that most people will never see in their lives. I’ve seen a couple of bright ones, but nothing like this!

I know we had basically “space junk” burning up in the atmosphere here a few years ago.. and that was scarier looking because it was bright and burning for over an hour..
Well, I’m not sure about anything occurring Monday night over Africa, but I did see a shooting star on the way home from work at about 1am here in Northern NY. 🙂
