Ah…no wonder…..the house I’m looking at….(wanting to get eventually)
it just over $230,000 in Fort Worth and is just about 5,000sq ft
not huge but enough for me….and all my windstones…

The average piece of crap out here sells for 750,000. That’s a 30 year old dump and the termites don’t even pay rent!
If you want a nice house less than 15 years old and bigger than 1800 sf, you would be looking at 990,000.However, we rent a beautiful house with 6 bedrooms for 2K a month. It’s more cost effective to rent here. We just need a good size earthquake 😉

well amarillo is expensive compared to fort worth…
my sister came up here for a visit and her friends just bought a house here….their house could fit inside her house….and they paid the same price….
that’s why I want to move down there where she is…besides that the Dallas airport is so much cheaper to fly out of….
Yeah, but the weather…
San Diego houses are cheaper, but the pay is not very good. So living there is actually more expensive. But the weather is soooo nice.
If I were to move, it would either be San Diego or Arizona. I miss warm weather, and I hear Arizona has a really cool monsoon season!I heard Arizona is really dry, my sister vacationed there for a week and her hair was a giant static ball and she kept zapping herself with static electricity all the time. I thought it was funny.
Honestly, I’ll probably always be stuck in MA for the rest of my life, but as far as the $339,900 house goes they are out of their minds. It’s just 2, 2 bedroom units and one big room in the basement with a tile floor. It needs some paint in a few rooms and has 3 or 4 broken windows. The yeard is pretty big, about a quarter of an acre, but no fence. It has a big driveway though…still…$339,900. That’s like 1700+ per unit for rent alone give or take depending on the percentage rate we get. That’s nuts.

See, I can understand CA though…to a point I mean. but what the heck is so great about MA that it’s so expensive? We have the most unpredictable weather, tons of snow! Tons of humidity in the summer, crappy roads EVERYWHERE and tunnels built by idiots that fall in and kill people! ……….no earthquakes though, definately no earthquakes

But seriously…I am in virginia, in a very expensive area for my ummm area. My house is about 1000 sqft and I could sell for about 120. It has a small yard…but is in town, not a big lot. But its a 2 bd/2bth that has been upgraded.
I can’t imagine tring to buy a home in your area. Of course pay is lower here too. In my area a job that pays more than 10 bucks an hour, unless you are a nurse or have a mastersdegree, is very very hard to come by. Soooo I guess it just shows ya.
