I always use money orders for buying and selling and never had a problem… that’s just me though. Except one time I got a mo from Canada which was supposed to be a US mo but wasn’t and I had to send it back and get a new one that the bank would accept… wasn’t too much of a hassle though, the buyer was someone from here.
…yeah sorry that wasn’t much help. My dad’s the one that pays for/cashes everything. ^^;
I’m sorry you got scammed, Drag0n. I think it is a sign of how honest a person you are that this happened,. In my experience really honest people have a hard time dealing with dishonest people because they just don’t believe people can act that way.And once you agreed to buy whatever it was I can see how you would feel honor bound to go through with the transaction. And, like you said, you checked with BofA beforehand. I am wondering if the person you talked to did not understand what you were asking – like Nam said, it isn’t the bank’s fault if the woman did not send the item so there really is no bank fraud going on. I think the advice to go with your gut is excellent. In the future if you get a bad feeling about a transaction you could back out or tell the person you will only go through with it if they will agree to COD and you can tell them about this experience. If the person is honest he or she will understand and if they are not honest you will have protected yourself. I just hope you aren’t out too much money. 🙁 And even though you ran into a dishonest person I believe there are more honest people out there than dishonest!
I am hoping she just had an emergency… I posted about it on the forum I bought it from and had my first trolling experience. People are just sad and pathetic. 🙄
Anyway, a lot of the people who posted “helpful” messages instead of just causing problems said she was in the middle of a move and her sister went into emergency surgery, so maybe she’s just having a bad time at the moment and hasn’t been able to check her email. I’ll try to hang in there I guess. I don’t have much choice I guess anyway.
