My cats don’t even know what a mouse is!!
December 11, 2007 at 10:13 pm #644799hahaha!
our cat used to drag in the biggest fieldmouse he could find, place it infront of the sofa and watch it disappear under it (we have like a huge sofa consisting of 6 clamped togheter sofa seats) and then MEWWWW heartbreakingly until someone came to help.
then Mum and I would heave and shove the sofa whiles the mouse was scribbling under it (and a very eager cat was sticking head and paw under the sofa).. and once I dropped the bloody sofa in an impossible moment and squashed the mouse ( I didnt know it was just precisely under that part of the socket) 🙁 I never felt so bad…

I don’t know about that… In my parent’s house, they had a laundry room. The house’s heating unit was in there and there was a hole for the pipes nearby that led to the crawl space underneath the house. They kept the litter box in that room, as well as bowls of water and dry cat food. The mice used to come up through the hole and steal the cats’ food. 😆
Thats what started it… they (the mice) were tearing open the bottom of the cat food bag and eating their food, so I bought a plastic tote to put the food in, Now the mice are coming out lookin for their free meal! lol
And how in the heck did cleaning up the dinning room turn into rearrangeing it??? lol 🙄

oh man that’s so funny, silly cats!
My kitty would have had so much fun “playing” with that mouse. 😈
She brought home a rat on one of my mother’s birthays. Just sat right at the door banging on the screen with it in her mouth so that someone would let her in. She liked to bring her “toys” into the house and play with them on the carpet. We didn’t let her do that if we caught her, but sometimes, we’d just leave the door open for her to come in and out and she’d sneak one in…we’d find it later laying on the floor when it stopped being fun for the her (stopped moving….)

Something extremely similar happened to me too once. It’s been 20 years and I still feel awful. I love mice too. (That one in that picture is adorable!) Whenever my parents left out traps I’d take a stick and set them off while they weren’t looking. *shify eyes*
I’ve also had two rats as pets. They were both wonderful and sweet creatures. Only species of pets aside from my dog that never bit me, lol.
December 12, 2007 at 2:28 pm #644805I’ve never seen a mouse around here, though just HAVING four cats would probably be deterrent enough. Although after those pics I’m not so sure…that’s one brave mouse to take the chance of risking your kitties. 😀
December 12, 2007 at 7:12 pm #644806The little mouse hid under our big cat PC and Mouser was doing all the work. lol We found a dead mouse in the kitchen earlier that day. I guess Mouser just plays with them to death. 😕

December 12, 2007 at 7:26 pm #644808Sounds like my cats.
Neither one of them could kill a mouse to save their lives.
I gave them a pinky the snake refused once.
It took them half an hour to figure out they were supposed to eat it.
December 12, 2007 at 7:29 pm #644809to be fair domestic cats do not have the instinct
December 12, 2007 at 7:35 pm #644810that’s incorrect.
My parents cat, who is the biggest lover on earth, brings up moles, squirrels, snakes, shrews, mice, etc. to eat and ‘provide for his family’.
And he’s definitely a domestic feline!
December 12, 2007 at 7:58 pm #644811I thought about that after I typed that.
December 12, 2007 at 8:04 pm #644812Heres a neat story…
Most male cats that roam around and find girlfriends usually don’t have much to do with the kittens…
We had a male cat (YEARS AGO) and when we lived in Oceanside CA, he found a girlfriend and fathered some kittens… here is the neat part, he brought us one of the new born kittens just to show it off to us… he sat it down on the front porch and had a proud look on his face. Once all the “good boys and Ooo its sooo cute’s” were over he picked up his kitten and took it back to momma! 😉
