You might want to pull the boy aside and apologise. My mom (who teaches) finds that apologising to children really works.
He might really appreciate it and respect you more thereafter. Might is the key word, though. You never know.

I’m so glad you have 2 dream jobs! I hope all goes well w/the blonde boy… he may end up forgiving you faster than you’ll forgive yourself. Having a fun, understanding teacher can make all the difference for some kids. Good on you!
