Ok…so I give my 6 year old son a hershey kiss…he eats it and I turn around to see him drop the balled up wrapper on the floor…and the 1 year old promptly eats it. I reach into her mouth and fish around with my finger, but alas…it’s gone… Now what? Will this make her sick? Will she be able to pass it ok or should I take her to a doctor? π―
December 13, 2007 at 6:21 pm #646824Might just place a quick phone call to the doc and double check, but she’ll probably be fine.
The dog ate a whole basketfull of easter candy once, foil and all. There were shiny piles of poo in the yard the next day. No harm no foul.
December 13, 2007 at 6:52 pm #646825Yeah, My son ate a chunk of marble (About a 1/4 to 1/2 inch in diam.) and it went through fine. I don’t think you can get aluminum poisoning, but I am not positive.
But, if she swallows a quarter and poops out 2 dimes and a nickle, you might be in trouble! π (Just playing!!)
Call if it will make you less worried tho. πDecember 13, 2007 at 6:55 pm #646826π π Ok! That makes me feel much better! I’ll let you know if she starts giving change! π
December 13, 2007 at 6:58 pm #646827My Gramma told me that when I told her about Glen swallowing the marble chunk. I about died laughing, so it made me relax a bit. My doctor said it should pass through, that as long as he wasn’t having truble going it should come out. (Yes, I did call cuz I was paranoid, even after my Gramma said it would be alright. π But, I guess anyone with 3 kids and 12 grand kids would probably know. π )
December 13, 2007 at 7:00 pm #646828I’ve got 3 kids myself…but when I saw her swallow that I just kinda went blank…”what do I do now?” I’ll still watch her really carefully, but not stress over it. π
December 13, 2007 at 7:10 pm #646829π SHe will be fine. π

literally
December 13, 2007 at 9:19 pm #646836She’ll be fine. Reminds me though, a couple weeks ago Karli got ahold of my watercolors, ate the whole entire green cake. Yep, he poop was bright bright green later. Good thing it was non toxic!
Your 6 yo and 1 yo sound like my two, its a scenerio I could see happening, easy. Karli puts absolutely everything in her mouth.
Whereas when Alex was a baby, he never did, if it wasn’t food, he didn’t try. It was odd. So when Karli was born, I really wasn’t prepared for a baby who tried to eat everything she could get her paws on, because her brother never did that.
