The poor dragon! And poor you! You must have had a minor seizure when the piece came off – especially since it sounds like it happened at the very end, after all your hard work.
It makes him just a little bit more realistic – an old warrior who has one more scar (even if it isn’t visible). Considering I have a cat missing an eye and had a cat with a permanently broken lower jaw I’m a sucker for critters with injuries so I would be more than happy to give him a home! 😉 😆

May 7, 2008 at 6:21 pm #693913Oh no! Your heart must have stopped 😯
Something like that happened to me. I used to paint rocks to resemble animals. My Poppa had found me this perfect rock for a penguin, which is something I always wanted to try. It was perfect, I was so proud of it, and then I went to rub some watered paint over the black on it’s back to make it look more like feathers. I never saw the hairline fracture until a split second before the rock shattered. I couldn’t even repair it, it was just toast. It’s a funny feeling as you sit there with all your hard work in pieces on the table, trying to adjust to what happened. I’m so glad the OW got a second chance, and all your hard work didn’t just fall to pieces permanently!
May 7, 2008 at 6:43 pm #6939140_0 Glad he was repairable!
They were shipped without their inserts because (I think) packing had gotten moved to the other side of the factory, but the inserts, honeycomb and stamper didn’t get moved with it…I don’t know how they’ve been finding inserts for the ebay things! they must have wrangled the honeycomb and insert stamper from out of the abyss…

Oh okay! When I asked Melody about it on the phone she seemed genuinely horrified so I didn’t know it was a known issue. 😆

I am sorry that happened to you Jen after all the hard work you put into him. But, he should be good as new now! 😀May 8, 2008 at 6:25 am #693919I’m sorry that happened, Nam, but I’m glad you were able to repair him. It would have been awful if all your work had been lost. Can we see pictures?
