Whew! oh, ok… Hopefully he’ll be ok then. 😀
May 6, 2008 at 3:39 am #693896😯 What he did not want to be painted in more colors so ducked to avoid your paintbrush and spilled some paint on himself instaid? 😯 🙄 😉
May 7, 2008 at 2:36 am #693897I love him!
What happened to him?
May 7, 2008 at 4:55 am #693898Nam, don’t keep us hanging! What happened?
May 7, 2008 at 4:58 am #693899As in a, “I fell down.” incident? 😕
May 7, 2008 at 4:58 am #6939000_0 Oh no!! And after you’ve been working on his so long already! I hope it’s not serious…

-J R R TolkienMay 7, 2008 at 1:12 pm #693901The last batch of blanks that were shipped to me were, somewhat alarmingly, not shipped in their cardboard custom-formed boxes. One of my lap dragons shattered and I thought she was the only casualty. Unfortunately this OW has a hidden wound- he must have had a hairline fracture when he was shipped and I didn’t notice until I was done with him and wiping the antique off. Because you have to press slightly when wiping the antique off, that bit of extra pressure made the fractured spot come off like a glacier. AGHHH! Luckily it was a very small area and I was able to repair it completely. So I guess this guy isn’t mint anymore (though from looking you really can’t tell it even happened), but he is ‘as new’ and will come from the factory, so it depends on your definition of mint.
I wouldn’t even mention it but I like to be 100% honest about the work I do.

May 7, 2008 at 2:20 pm #693903Yikes!!! 😯 How horrifying would that be, to watch all that work disintigrate….. I’m glad you were able to repair him! 😯

May 7, 2008 at 3:19 pm #693904Dang bummer. I am sure he will still fetch a pretty penny. 😆

😯 How’d they get out without their forms! Yikes! I’m glad you were able to fix him!
I wouldn’t consider him “mint”, but I’d consider him to be on the same level. He was repaired by Windstone staff (you :)) prior to sale, and you’ve disclosed that fact. *shrug* Dunno ’bout others, but that’s good enough for me. My BVF OW is the same way… it’s weird to read the COA since I can’t tell where the damage was (the auction said where).May 7, 2008 at 4:10 pm #693907I’m sure that probably gave you a pretty good scare, when that piece came off him!
He might not exactly be mint anymore… but I have no doubt that he’ll still do extremely well on Ebay for you. 🙂May 7, 2008 at 4:40 pm #693908You may not consider him mint anymore but I think I would because he was repaired by a Windstone person. I don’t think that would hurt his selling price because he is beautiful
May 7, 2008 at 4:51 pm #693909At least one of the test paint griffins Melody did had a repair done (disclosed in the auction listing). He still fetched a pretty penny 🙂
