What do you guys do with yourselves when you’re terminally bored?
Work is slow right now, I work at a university as a department web specialist, but it’s intersession and everybody but myself and a student worker is gone probably until the first of June, so that’s not helping.
I’ve got a million and one things I could probably work on, especially at home. I have a half finished website overhaul for myself, a project/practice one to build as a demo, shirt designs I need to make and then output to glitter and rhinestones or some other shiny heat applied substance and all kinds of not yet finished art, but I’m still…bored. This isn’t a whine, particularly, but could maybe be called a mild expression of frustration.
How do y’all break out of it when you hit this state?

May 22, 2015 at 12:09 am #929843LOL, I don’t currently have a dog, and it’s not a voluntary situation. That might also be part of my problem.
May 22, 2015 at 12:19 am #929848I spend too much time on Facebook and YouTube when work is slow. Usually I can’t motivate myself to do much until things get busy again. lol

September Raffle Prize 2022 AHD Male GriffinMay 26, 2015 at 7:54 pm #930021My problem is (like yours) I have a ton of things I could work on (a griffin and a horse I’m painting, 3 quilts I’ve started) but I usually don’t feel like doing those things and start a new project. I come on the forum and obsess over all the topics, I research things I’ve always wondered (ex:Why is New York known for their bagels? Which vitamins can you get from eating which fruits/vegetables? ) and I get on Pinterest and day dream about having my own home with a garden and how I’ll decorate and what rooms I’ll paint what color (etc. etc.) or read a book if I can. I work in the medical field now so sometimes I bring anatomy books to review and read more in depth.
May 26, 2015 at 8:09 pm #930022I’m a big fan of zoning out to mindless games (Bejeweled Blitz on Facebook… haven’t checked in a while but Zuma was also fun, may still be on Facebook – free to play)
I’ve also been toying with “Zendoodle” things… and I bought the grown ups coloring book everyone made a fuss over a lil while ago… I bought the Enchanted Forest one, my mom has the Secret Garden one, they’re quite fun… very pretty!
I also enjoy Word Searches and Sudoku books 🙂 or maybe just good book to read…
I keep myself busy with tons of projects, but I sometimes just wanna do something simple to pass the time
May 27, 2015 at 6:16 am #930068I am usually online, either reading articles on health and nutrition or watching documentaries or videos on youtube or looking up cute or funny pics articles or videos of animals and nature. I sometimes check games on my phone too. One relaxing on I like is an app called Flutter with butterflies.
Looking for rainbow or pink & teal grab bags!
May 27, 2015 at 12:55 pm #930075If I’m stuck at my desk during a slow period, I like to read books and short stories on pdf. I find all of them online. If you have a preferred genre, you can sometimes find sites with good collections of books with that genre or theme.
May 29, 2015 at 5:47 pm #930147Find a good book to read, watch one of the TV programs I previously recorded, pester my dog or make him go for a walk A(he is lazy) play Solitaire, call a friend, get on Facebook, work in the yard if it isn’t to hot
