Romeodanny, that story makes me feel sick and really hurts my heart. I can only HOPE that your ex-neighbor runs into somebody that he annoys and they do the same thing (ok, something MUCH worse) to him!
I think I mentioned my boy Domino. I found him in my backyard in the stand of bamboo (yeah, we have some bamboo in NJ lol). It took a long time for him to trust us. He’s a big, gentle kitty, but scared of so many things, because he must have been teased and abused:( Often, I think about getting revenge on whoever did things to him.
That reminds me – who has the new kitten? How are things working out? Is that you, SPark? Sorry, my mind is shot. lol

Tari, our second cat, was lost by somebody. Or abandoned, we don’t know which. It’s very obvious she used to be somebody’s pet, but she had no tag, no chip, and no way to know who she belonged to, so we kept her.
I love hearing nice endings like thisJanuary 25, 2007 at 5:34 pm #531157Romeodanny wrote:drag0nfeathers wrote:LOL! Well, when I first had all these kitties I was in between 5 and 8 years old so i wasn’t up on leashes and things of that nature. Any cat I have that’s young are strictly indoor, but the older ones is impossible to try and keep them in. They wait patiently at the slider door and trip you when you come in running out so fast!
It’s mean to say, but yes, all the dumber cats I had were all weeded out many years ago by cars. All of them I have now are very street smart.
Though someone intentionally broke my wooden post fence once just to run over my cat Oscar. I friggin’ hate some people.
Romeo, how did they attack your cat? Why would that attack a poor cat? I don’t understand some people. I could string them up by their throats I swear!
Tigger we had for 6 or whatever years. he used to follow me and my sister to school. He was hit by a car, my neighbor across the street picked him up and unfortunatly he died on the way home. We only found out about it because he hadn’t slipped out of his new collar yet. We didn’t have id on him but, he had his vet tag. Blackie was attacked by our dog. He had to be put to sleep. Poor Blackie was unlucky. He was attacked by a few dogs in his short life.I don’t know why my neigbor attacked Danny. Danny managed to slip out of my appartment when I left to pick up a parcel. I came home and Danny was plastered to the railing at the top of the stairs beside my door. He was howling his head off. I really don’t want to ever hear that sound ever again. So I don’t know what my cat did, but the guy who lives in the basement apparently came up stairs to save Danny from the idiot. I didn’t even know about it until I ran into my next door neigbor. She told me that Darrel attacked my cat. Danny spent two days hiding under the bed, he wouldn’t even come out to eat. Poor thing. That guy just hated cats, unfortunatly there were cats in most of the other appartments. He used to scream at my cats for playing during the day.
The jerk was evicted. It took a few years. Now the people who lived there before are back. In the six appartments in this section there are now 13 cats and I think only one dog. Cynthia (next door) she’s nicknamed the appartment the pussy palace. 😆Okay so I would have spent the night (or possible a few years) in jail because I would have gotten a bat and knocked on the guys door and gave him a mafia style beat down! And as he was begging for his life I would have cracked the bat right in his face! I knew who hurt my animal they would know just how that animal felt if it was in my power! Honestly, my cats are like my kids, yes I’m one of those people.
This one time I almost got my butt kicked though becuase there were these section 8 people who lived nextdoor to me at one time (about 3 or 4 years ago) and they had like 10 kids! They ranged from like 4 to 12 and once time they were chasing my cats Shady & Bubbas with a rod iron planter post (the kind that look like a pitchfork that you shove into the ground to hang plants on for decoration) and I ran over to them and said I’d kick their little asses and some other colorful words when they’re 300 pound mother ran over screaming at me for threatening her kids. We almost got into a fist fight.
Seeing your cat attacked by a dog muct be awful. I’m glad I haven’t had to see that yet, just being hit by cars which is also devestating, but at least it’s fast. Being attacked by a dog …I can’t even imagine. Keep your cats inside Romeo! It seems they are very unfortunate when it comes to the outdoors!

My boyfriend’s cats have been outdoor cats all their lives. (They live with his parents, not with us.) One of them is 12 years old, and still goes out. It’s possible to have healthy, happy outdoor cats, but you have to live in the right place. Their house is on a very out of the way street, in a really nice neighborhood, with a park directly behind it, so it’s a great place for cats. Living in apartments, with crazy neighbors, like we do now, I would never let our cats out. Too many chances for them to get hurt.
January 25, 2007 at 9:33 pm #531160All my cats were strays. One was sprayed with hair spray and lit on fire by some neighbor kids. We caught her and put her out and kept her for a while. She was a pretty calico. Her ears were all melted, but she was very friendly. I saved one from some other kids who were tossing it in the kiddie pool… thats the one that just died that Water did the commision for… and I went to adopt a dog at the pound and ended going home with a cat. I had to give her to my sis… who does not really have the same philosophy on animals as I do, and she ended up running away. I wanted to take care of them, but really didnt have the means. They were at least safe for a while and no worse off than they were before. Now that I am older and have my own place/say in animals, I treat them as family, as they should be treated. Kids can be sooo cruel.
January 25, 2007 at 9:50 pm #531161I consider my cats mu kids sothey are family. I have had my oldest since she ws 4 days old so I had to go thru all the bottle feeding etc. So I’m truly her mama. I get the other 3 very young also
January 25, 2007 at 9:53 pm #531162We have two that were bottle fed. They are both big babies:)

That’s how Bubbas got his name =) He LOVED his bubba! His full name is Baby Bubba Kitty, but we call him Bubbas for short.

January 25, 2007 at 11:05 pm #531165He was a fat little tennis ball of a kitten too! It was so long ago when we had to mix up that powdered milk for kittens and it was really fattening. He would drag his tummy around and we say “who wants his bubba” and he’s start meowing like crazy over and over! It was actually one of those horiffic loud kitten squeals and got really annoying when he wouldn’t stop, but it was so cute! The only way to shut him up was to feed him with the bottle.

He will be walking around the house meowing all the time for no reason. I do not know why but that drives me CRAZY to hear it over and over again!!!
January 26, 2007 at 12:18 am #531167I love the meowing of cats!
Well, maybe not in the middle of the night. And when they’re in heat… 😉
Incessantly mewing kittens though, that upsets me because it sounds like they’re starving or hurt or scared or otherwise needing something urgently. It’s like, “I need to do something NOW to make them stop so I know they’re ok!” 😥
January 26, 2007 at 12:26 am #531168that is EXACTLY my point. He has food, water, litter and more LOVE from his brother and sisters and me then can be measured. I do not understand why somedays he just will not shut up.
January 26, 2007 at 12:42 am #531169He knows it annoys you, maybe. The little bugger. ;D
Just like cats know I am deathly allergic to them, so of course they love me (good thing I still love cats regardless of my allergy ;).
By the way, drag0n, I think Bubbas is SO cute! I love that kitty, the little trooper. I don’t think I ever commented on him (just his dragon ;).
