Just an FYI… the poll was a sticky announcement forum-wide for over a month. 😉 This means it was visible at the header of every subforum in the entire Windstone Forum for a month.
I only recently moved it to the community section.
I tend to skip right over the “announcements” listed at the top of each section; they rarely change, and after a while, I find myself ignoring them. Why not put the newest announcement, poll, etc, in a different color so that it stands out?
December 2, 2010 at 8:15 pm #832149Wasn’t the poll also at the beginning of the user control panel or the private messages section? I remember seeing some announcements there as well as on the Forum itself.

Can’t do that with the current forum software, unfortunately.
I figured most people looked at the announcements, since that is where Melody announces new products and raffle stuff!

I’m usually around Community, Art, and Ask Melody, so I didn’t see this until now. 😳 I did vote in Jen’s poll, reply often, and post things I find interesting (which sometimes start debate or longer discussions :D) or decisions i’m not too sure about without asking around, and I check PYO every so often and the general & shop thread about once a month or if I’m bored. Not an annoying or evil ‘bot! (I’m too smart for that )

Man, I never even thought of making more than one account to screw with the raffle! That’s sad that anyone would do that, though. = How could you enjoy something you’d won if you knew you cheated to get it? I guess if you have no conscience it would be easy. >.>; Otherwise, it would just be a constant reminder you were dishonest. As far as I can tell, nobody has cheated by making more than one entry. There are a many “newbies”, and members that never post comments on the forum that enter each raffle, but they have real names and addresses so …:? . I think it is all good!

February 3, 2011 at 9:09 pm #832158I never did understand the mentality of setting up an account somewhere and never coming back! I wonder why that happens…. it’s interesting to me that it’s such a large percentage, I wonder if it’s commitment issues! 😈

I wonder how many of the members who never post comments, and do enter the raffles, don’t visit the forum? It looks like someone could tell when to enter the raffles by following the Windstone blog and ignoring the forum. But, as we know, you do have to register for the forum to enter the raffles.

No you don’t. Raffle entries are done by E-mail. There is nothing that says you have to be a forum member to register for the raffles.
A guest could read the posts and find out what’s up for grabs and fire off an E-mail.If there is a restriction to that effect, it’s not listed in the information posted.
The majority of these no-post accounts are people who signed up to keep track of new posts and to be able to send/receive PMs, and simply lost interest after a while or haven’t been on in the last 90 days.

Not that Melody has time to check, but you are also supposed to send her your forum user name when you enter the raffle as well.
In short: Cheating and not being a member and entering just has no payoff!
