I tried to talk to the wife last night and explain to her that studs isolated will start being aggressive with people and other animals. They have a very neglected little girl and I tried to explain that the horse may be small but he can hurt a kid. That he would try to dominate her and since he decided to try and mount me! NASTY booger! That he would eventually become nasty to them. I suggested gelding him she looked at me like she had no clue.
To top it all off one of her many unnutered, unspayed dogs had a litter of puppies and last litter I watched die one by one. The momma dog has the worst case of mange and now she’s feeding three pups.
I am not kiding thier yard looks like a garbage dump! there are fast food bags and garbage all over the yard, junk every where it really looks like when they clean out the car or house it goes on the ground. It’s like something breaks they throw it out the front door. There are so many cars in varing degrees of dismatle that it really looks like a dump.
I just really wish they’d give the little punk to me. I know a couple of people that have room for him and would take him.Suggest it to them next time he gets out. Ask her if she would like you to take him off her hands, and that you could guarantee a good home for him. Never hurts to ask, worst she could say is no.
Sad to hear about the child and other animals.

April 5, 2008 at 6:06 pm #687480Sorry, but I’d totally put in a call to the SPCA 🙁 That’s terrible. The dog alone needs medical help, soon, and the horse is going to wind up hurting someone. So sad…

I don’t mean to be rude or offend anyone from/in TX.. I lived there for many years myself and I noticed from working in the pet trade (sigh 🙁 ) that the attitude toward animals by the general public (not everyone– but most of the average Joe-off-the-street native Texans and southerners I helped) is a lot different than in some areas… and not for the better. Neglect was a common thing. If you ever watch Animal Planet’s “Animal Cops” you’ll notice how bad it is in Houston, which is where I used to live. One of the officers that is regularly on the show used to come in and shop at one of the stores I worked at and I talked to him sometimes, very nice guy, and he said it was often worse than what they showed on the TV show. 🙁

He’s a beautiful dog, one blue eye, one brown eye, a little white shaggy mutt. I caught him one evening, brought him home and played with him till morning and took him to the address on his tags. No one answered. Took him back later and the peoople were like “oh….yea….uh…..thanks?” and he’s out running the neighborhood and disturbing and annoying other people’s dogs and chasing the cats again. I’m almost tempted to just keep him in my yard. Not like his owners would care 🙄
Did he get along with Roxie? And do you think your parents would mind? 😛
April 5, 2008 at 10:47 pm #687484well I am going to bury myself here…I have to tell ya what lives in my area and around me are nothing but white trash. I don’t ride my horse around here anymore it’s gotten to scary and there is a meth house behind us and down the road a bit. Animals out here are disposable. They get puppies and after they loose that cuteness they get dumped down at the river about a mile from my house. I used to ride down there but after one day finding several shot dogs I won’t ride here any more. I trailer my horse 10 miles up to my church where I ride on thier property they have 110 acres.
I did go and talk to the owners of the little horse and she said her husband would be by around lunch to get him well it’s 5:00 and he’s still here. I will call animal control Monday and see what I can do.April 6, 2008 at 1:01 am #687485sounds to me like the horsie keeps coming to you becasue he feels safe. Some time animals pick their owners

Boy is THAT true! My neighbors used to have a brown and white tabby, such a sweetie he was a purr factory! They would throw rocks at him, scream at him, and once they even ran over him by accident!! That cat lived with us once he realized we were sweet and would feed him even though we had two dogs and no cat food. Animals do choose who they want to be with, ESPECIALLY if they feel safe.
April 6, 2008 at 5:56 am #687487Sounds like someone needs to make an anonymous call to children’s services as well. Kids shouldn’t be in that situation either, with all the filth and neglect. Not that it sounds like it would do much good, but maybe it would put them on notice, y’think? Maybe?
