I’m glad the long wait is over!
…but not so sure those guards look very comfortable about the ‘private word’ bit!
And that’s where poor Podge wound up.
That third panel, the long little strip, is lovely. It sets the atmosphere perfectly.
Phew, Thanks Mel, I was starting to think you were too busy to do this. I was having Veligent withdrawls. 😉
Oh, and what is demon puppy’s name? I wants him. lol
It was insane to try to get a page finished during the holidays, so I took a Veligent break.
The “demon” does have a name, but you will learn it later on.
Uh Oh! Podge is tangled and in trouble!
Demon Wolfie to the rescue! 😀
Glad to have a new page. Having said that … I’m having trouble with the timeline. Are the scenes with the “demon” and Podge supposed to be happening about the time that Serence grabs Kade, as the drawings indicate?
That raises the question of why the demon is still in the vicinity of the cage, assuming that Podge actually is up a tree that she landed in after the demon shoved the gate open and Podge went flying. Since the demon left the cage we have seen Kade captured, brought to the king, and a lot of arguing, all of which must have taken time. Why is the demon only heading home now?
Or did Podge transport herself to a different location to intercept him?
Edit – Another possibility … did the demon follow Kade and the guards? That would make sense (to me, anyway 😉 ).
These scenes are going on at the same time.
The Demon is still hanging around the prison/cage area. ( maybe I should show the “cage” in the long panel, to clarify) He didn’t turn tail and run away home ,as Kade assumed he would, and is now considering what to do next. Should he track Kade and the wranglers?
His motives will become clearer a few pages from now.
Podge is known to feign distress.
Maybe showing the cage would be good. I would be interested to know what other people think.
Maybe I’m the only one who read the long panel as demon on his way home (having started when Kade told him to go, so a long way away from the cage) and then thought “How did Podge get there?”.
I agree about showing the cage, I thought he had run a distance too. 🙂
Haven’t responded directly to this story before, but thank you for sharing. This has probably been covered somewhere and I just missed it, but will the demon dog/wolf ever become a sculpture? He? is fabulous. 🙂
This comment by Melody is from the Windstone Facebook page (in response to a similar remark about a demon wolf sculpture):
“I should make one.. The only thing stopping me is the need for two more pewter horns!”
Yeah maybe!
The horns are always a hassle, but it is do-able.
Oooh! He’d be so worth the trouble of the horns. 🙂 Thanks!
I wasn’t going to ask, and it doesn’t really matter, however just out of curiosity … what happened to the little black haired guard (third from the left on panel 1)? All the other guards show up in the bottom two panels but not that one as far as I can determine.
He got edited out. He didn’t fit in the panel composition.
There were five palace guards with swords shown on page 110, but there wasn’t room to show them all on the following pages, so they disappeared for the time being.
