Has anyone used this particular medium before? It sounds pretty interesting, I was thinking it could look pretty neat on the Hippocampi PYO.

The description: This gel contains tiny, colorless glass beads to create effects such as air bubbles in water. Use it alone or with acrylic paint.

I haven’t but it sure looks like it might be interesting trying on a few things, that and possibly the black lava texture gel or the sand texture gel.
If you do try it, I can’t wait to see the results!

      Looking for:
"COSMIC SHIFT DRAGONS and KI-RINS" and the "OCTOPUS TANUKI TEST PAINT #1"

Sounds like it would be pretty fantastic as a water effect 😀

        Excellent!

I’ve seen that…I always wondered about its uses as well. I look forward to any posts with photos, and reviews.

I’ve tried it. If you want a bumpy texture -is is good for that. The stuff I tried doesn’t go on smooth, it clumps up. You can’t easily get a single layer of beads on a surface. I was hoping it would give a reflective surface.

Hmmm, so it wasn’t translucent? I was kind of hoping the effect would kind of look like bubbles of water.

I wonder if you could thin the gel that the beads are suspended in, perhaps with a little bit of water? I’ve seen that stuff and the gel the beads are suspended in seems pretty thick (probably to keep the beads from sinking in it). If the gel were thinner it might make the beads more mobile and easier to get into a single layer.

I’ve never used it because I wasn’t thrilled with the idea of a bumpy surface texture. Maybe you could try experimenting with the thickness. I would, but I don’t have any of that medium on hand at the moment.
