So, for each of my kids’ birthdays, I do shaped cakes that I hand decorate. My mom did it for my brothers and me, so it was something I wanted to do for my kids. I use specialty shaped cake pans, usually made by Wilton. Here are a couple I have done.
So this year, in two weeks, my little man turns four. He is in love with all things Batman. So he wants a Batman cake. He actually doesn’t want one that looks like Batman the person, but rather just the emblem. I found that Wilton once made a pan; it looks like this:
So this pan seems to be rather hard to find. I don’t really want to spend $60 on it because something thinks it’s ‘vintage’. Any suggestions? Anyone have one? I’ll buy it from you for a ‘reasonable’ price, or I don’t even mind ‘renting’ from you and mailing it back when I’m done. Please help!

There is a silicone pan with a bat emblem shape. I’ve never used a silicone pan, but many people seem to like them.
Instead of buying a pan can you find a template for the emblem and make the design out of frosting on a sheet cake?

"COSMIC SHIFT DRAGONS and KI-RINS" and the "OCTOPUS TANUKI TEST PAINT #1"If I have to, I’ll get an oval pan, frost it in smooth yellow, and then sorta stencil/freehand the bat symbol. It’s entirely possible and I’ll use that as my backup. It would just be less steps with the pan, which is why I decided to give you guys a shot. 🙂

Thanks etruscan, I’ve seen this one, but I would have to put it on top of an oval cake, and I think it’ll just be too much cake for us!

Hmmm. This is a possibility! Do you have any photos of the cake? I’m just trying to picture what part is raised and stuff.
