I purchased a baby unicorn with mother print thinking I didn’t already have one but it ended up being that I
did already have one, or so I thought. It wasn’t until I received the second one in the mail that I could
compare them side by side. Even though they look similar, they are different. If you compare the unicorns,
both mother and baby, you can see the differences. Look at the horns, manes, and the hair on the baby, they are very different. Plus there is a space between the mother and baby not shown in the other. Is one of them a fake or did you do different but similar unicorn prints? If one is a fake, which is the correct one?

August 20, 2015 at 5:16 am #933490Oh how neat! Congratulations on having both, Pixie!
August 20, 2015 at 5:29 am #933492Thank you. 🙂
After I had purchased the second one ( the one with the darker baby ) I was bummed because I
thought I had purchased one that I already had. Thank goodness that I had compared them and
not just sell the second one off because of thinking it was a duplicate.Thank you Melody for taking the time to verify that both prints are yours. I really appreciate it.

August 20, 2015 at 4:16 pm #933502I think it’s neat that the ink work and lines are so distinctly “Melody” that I could tell in the closeup shots… I am not saying it’s impossible to forge but it probably would have been more work that it’s worth to forge Melody’s very distinct handing of ink line.

My art: featherdust.comAugust 21, 2015 at 5:39 am #933553I didn’t want to try and guess which one I thought was a fake. I thought both were real
but I didn’t know if she would do two so similar. It’s nice to have conformation.August 21, 2015 at 4:22 pm #933586How cool is it that we have a way to document and catalogue Melody’s work at “the source”?! If we were “smart” we as collectors would start gathering research information while Melody and Family are available to us. We have a number of scholars and authors in our ranks that even if they are horribly busy couldn’t they help organize some of the rest of us to gather that sort of information? How does that sort of research project work? I’m interested…
