Found this unicorn gargoyle on eBay. Is it a repaint?
Yikes! IDK. Kind of looks like it might be. Looks like that poor fella has seen some hard times and could use some TLC restoration big time!
Forever seeking: plum, chili pepper, and tattoo oriental dragons and kirins.
I’m not too familiar with non-dragon pieces, but this just seemed off. It looks like someone took a sharpie or a sloppy brush to it. *shrug* Maybe some veteran forum members can shed some light on this.
This looks like a partial repaint to me. It looks like someone thought the regular stone color was too bland and decided to accent it with yellow/gold and black paint.
It looks sorta distorted… Maybe it’s the paint or the photo, but it could be a knock off. Like a recasting knock off… hard to say. I’ve never seen a recast of this sculpt. It could just be a bad repair job and a repaint on top of it.
EDIT: well… now that I see the other photos it looks real… just a bad repair by the look if it. Fella had a tough go of it as it would seem.
