Maybe it’s a weird question but whatever. Have you ever read a book, played a game or watched something and seen a character that you associated to yourself? If so, who was it? What did they come from?

April 16, 2015 at 4:52 am #928016I can’t name one right at the moment but I always sympathize with the crazy bookish guy characters who spend all their time writing in dusty libraries and require a housekeeper to continue subsisting, because they’re so focused that they would forget to feed themselves otherwise. (This is actually a common thing in people involved in animation and film.) I actually have to make a point of eating first or keeping food/water close at hand while I’m writing or I will literally put off grabbing anything because I am more interested in my work – for hours.
Many, many hours. Actually pretty much any activity that involves NOT writing becomes something that I’d rather not do when I’m on a writing kick. EVERYTHING takes too much time away from it! (Vacuum the house? Nope. Dishes? Nope. Shower? Nope. Pet cats? Yeah, okay, I always have time for that – also they kind of follow me around. There’s always at least one nearby, keeping an eye on their silly human.)
There was a specific character that I associate with pretty poignantly, but I can’t remember their name.

Excellent!
April 16, 2015 at 4:55 am #928017“Lauren” from the book “The Wind Blows Backwards”. That’s ME in that story. I felt so connected to her, that on my high school letter jacket, for the nickname, I put “Lauren”. That, and…people who only sort of know my name call me Lauren. My math teacher and my lacrosse coach both accidentally called me Lauren. My real name is Linsey. 😛
Don’t laugh, but I saw myself as Bella too from Twilight *shifty eyes*. Not so much anymore, but 7-8 years ago when I read the books, yup. Mostly in the sense that she’s a hopeless romantic, and so am I. A fool for love. *re*
Kira from the manga “Mars”. I guess I associate myself with the shy, timid characters
oh and Dr. Dorian from Scrubs. He’s always day dreaming these crazy things and has this constant inner monologue. I tend to do that too 🙂
and Ted from How I Met Your Mother.
April 16, 2015 at 11:49 am #928022Arya from the ‘A Song Of Ice and Fire’ book series.
Given her evolution, methinks this could be a bit of a concern, no?
🙂Read my books! Volume 1 and 2 of A Dragon Medley are available now.

I agree. 🙂 What’s the proper word order if we’re being 100% grammatically correct – With whom do you associate yourself?

-laughs- I’m an info and grammar nerd. What can I say?

This is exactly what I would do if I won the lottery. I’d quit work and then I would spend all my time with my hobbies and forget to eat/drink. I’d travel a little (Japan, Australia, the Smithsonian, some national natural parks) and hire someone to take care of my house and yard.

🙂Hahaha! Perhaps, but I do think if I were in the world of asoiaf, and in Arya’s position I’d likely end up on a similar path as her. I but I do have faith she’ll figure everything out in the end and end up back home.(Dang it, when is GRRM going to finish that book?! At this point the frigging show is going to ruin everything.)
