How’s the website working now? We fixed more things. 🙂 The Classified ads should have their proper expiration dates again (sorry, those are not dates you can change). Everything else o.k.?
We added the new Shell Pink Curlies and White Young Orientals with much trepidation 🙁 – I held my breath – worried that it would not calculate shipping or some such thing. Hopefully nothing new has gone wrong! :love:

March 20, 2015 at 1:34 am #926908Hmmm.. I messed around with the Classifieds Ads for a bit and its certainly still confusing. The date options are still there to change the date to whatever you wish, but when you attempt to push it too far, it automatically goes back to this month. No error message is displayed when this happens, so it’s not clear what’s going on.
How do we refresh the dates now? The option to reset the expiration date is no longer there (I forget how it was worded before).
EDIT: I tinkered with it some more, and it appears that you cannot change the expiration date on your ad at all. You cannot lengthen it or shorten it. I’m confused because there are ads up that expire next month, which is far past the (I think?) 10 days that it used to be. I also have ads up that expire in longer than 10 days because when it set them before, I just set them for the end of the month. However, another ad I just put up this week got pushed back to 10 days from now. I’m just very confused.
I’m guessing that the functionality of the option to manually change the expiration has been turned off, but it is still visible and appears with the drop down menus and makes you think that you can change them – it should maybe be removed?

The site was INTENTIONALLY down in the wee hours last night so that something could be worked on – we apologize for the inconvenience. As usual something that was expected to take 5 minutes probably took longer (we need to be less optimistic!).
We thought the Classified Ads were fixed, but alas, it is not so. Lane should be in on Monday to take another go at that problem.
I think I forgot to tell Lane about the “mark all topics read” button – I will do that.
If you see anything else weird, please let us know! Your help is very much appreciated. It very hard for us to catch everything that can go wrong that does go wrong. Your observations help us out a lot.
Also, an email notification was sent out for the Young Oriental Dragon in white (yes, we will make more) and the Curled Dragon in Shell Pink (more styles are planned in that color) – if you are signed up for the announcements and did not get one, please check your spam box as it may have been filtered out, and then try pressing that button to sign up for them again. After the next one goes out if you don’t get that one either, we’ll look closely at what may be wrong. Thank you!

March 23, 2015 at 3:38 pm #927018I know there wasn’t a pre announcement for the orientals or curled dragons and that the website didnt crash when those went in to the store. Which of course is a good thing but just wondering if that is how new items will be going in the store from now on, to avoid any more crashes. No pre announcement, just an email stating the items are in store now. I think if this works that’s great, but with limited number of pieces it might be tricky.
March 23, 2015 at 8:01 pm #927020I don’t think it’s really any better or worse, from a customer perspective, than any other method. 🙂
When there is a preannounce, if the quantities are limited, it all depends on whose browser allows them to cart first and we risk the store going down.
When the announce goes out after something is stocked, it all depends on who sees it first, but at least the store is probably still online.
In either case, it’s really luck of the draw who manages to get to the pieces first if the quantity is really limited.
March 24, 2015 at 12:18 am #927024In answer to your question Ferlin, at this time our site doesn’t seem sturdy enough to handle a whole lot of people refreshing all at once when the appointed time of release comes around, so we will most likely announce an item after we have added it to the store. I know its nice to receive an announcement and know when you need to be by a computer, but having it crash is not fun for anyone.
Again, I remind everyone, please do not run any kind of auto-refreshing script on our site to find out when we’ve added a new item. Thank you!
