All of our entries are ready for voting! The judges decided to pass on 12 contestants instead of 10. 🙂 Proposed voting criteria are below.

    1. Originality: The more unique the video the better = 30%
    2. Technical execution: Focus and quality are important = 10%
    3. Visual impact: Look for compelling subject matter and great composition and lighting = 10%
    4. Relevance: Photos should be relevant to the theme, “Unboxing your Windstone.” = 10%
    5. Entertainment Value: Videos should be interesting and engaging = 40%

Votes are one per person and you must be an active, registered forum member to vote. Please remember, we do pull voting reports so artificially trying to inflate votes will disqualify an entry.

Good luck to all our finalists!

I loved seeing all the videos! I was confused though as I thought the videos were supposed to be you holding the camera yourself and filming the box opening and not showing your face or name to be more anonymous? So I guess we all had different ideas about that otherwise I would have tried to make mine more creative or entertaining.

Argh. I can’t decide how to vote. I mean… it’s tempting to just vote for my own. I do think mine is good! But if I’m 100% honest, I think it’s a second or maybe third place entry, not first. But it’s so hard to vote against myself when I really want to win!

I think maybe I will have to skip the voting, I can’t possibly vote and be fair.

I think they all deserve votes so if you think yours is good, you should vote for it. I honestly couldn’t decide on one I liked the best as I liked them all for different reasons. I wish we could vote for a few as I would if I could.

I liked them all also 🙂 I kinda wish we had 3 to vote for, being our top three 😉 That would have made it a lot easier to vote.

There was notation in the rules you could have someone else film for you if you wanted them to – you just had to submit a form from them giving you the right to submit the footage. From the rules:

“- Film yourself/have a friend film you opening the box … (if someone else films you OR if you have people other than you in the video, you’ll need them to sign a permission form that you submit with your entry – it can be signed after the video is captured- I can get you the form, just let me know if you need it)”

Also, in a question on the previous thread we said you could say your name/show yourself on screen – the anonymity of submissions came in after quest 1 as some participants felt they might not be getting votes due to not being as popular as others.

For this quest, it was up to the participants if they felt like giving that information in the video, though we do ask you to not post on the forum things like, “Entry 3 was mine! Vote for me!” Not all members know the real names/faces of people in the videos (though some do). It was totally up to you guys how to approach. 🙂

That’s true. Yeah I guess I didn’t absorb the different options of how to take the video. Would it be possible to allow us to do more votes for other videos like Amstaff mentioned or are these always limited to one vote per person?

They will continue to be limited to one per person – otherwise we’d end up with a lot of ties. 🙂

I really want to applaud all the members who participated in this quest. The idea of being near a camera (let alone a video camera!) terrifies me. I didn’t even like having my hands shown and my voice heard in the first quest. Its super seeing so many people willing to put themselves out there.

Changed my vote =p admittedly had selfishly voted for myself but knowing that I am not going to win I want to at least vote for someone that I thought put a great deal of thought into their video. Also that way number 7 would not be lonely. Whomever that one belongs to your reaction was heartwarming ^^b and while I am definitely jelly of your poad it was still a pleasure to see you post the vid. In fact all of the videos were great so thank you all so much for sharing them! Good luck to everyone and if you have not voted yet be sure to do so! we have till what sometime tomorrow? From the anticipation to the first gut reaction, the smiles and the laughter, the oohs and the awwws, dogs and socks and swords, stories and collections this is why we are grateful for grab bags XD
