Blue Morpho Baby Dragons question

And there is a huge, visible difference. The re-stock is still gorgeous, however.

I recall seeing somewhere that the Blue Morpho coloring on the Baby Dragons was being changed slightly to make it easier to produce. Did this happen with the restock of them today?

If so, does anyone have the old store picture saved? I am curious what the differences are!

Yes, I think the latest batch is slightly simplified.
The main differences are that the new version lacks black trim on the inner wing webs, and lacks the very darkest blue color. This change makes them both simpler to paint and makes them brighter looking too.

hmm, old one looks better to me, the newer one just seems blah in comparison, new one lacks something I can’t put my finger on….

This isn’t a change all the Blue Morpho pieces are going to get, is it? Cause if it is, I’ll be highly disappointed, as I LOVE the darker colors on them… I can tell you I’m with the group who would MUCH rather have a 1st gen baby than this 2nd gen… and I’ll feel the same with ALL of the pieces.
People have a ton of choices for bright colored dragons, but what about those who like a bit of dark on their pieces? We get BVP n the like, which is a lot of plain black that swallows up the details on a Windstone (Metallic black would be nice to at least catch light and accent the detail). A while back I bought a BVP, and promptly sold the BVP because I wanted to see the detail. These morpho’s really show off a dragons details! It rapidly became my favorite color, even over my childhood favorite of Peacock…

Ok, I have decided not to change the Blue Morpho color on the other dragons much at all, maybe just a tad less of the darkest blue shade on them.
We painted a sample Male dragon with only the two shades of blue and I decided it just doesn’t match the family well enough, though it looks nice.
So back to the original. I’ll do the next batch of babies with more black around the eye.

I'd still be sad to see less dark blue, but could probably handle it with the black still intact.
Having no idea how your paints work together, is there such a thing as lightening up use of the mid tone blue and maybe the light blue and dark blue will create a mid tone effect? or is that a bigger pain to work with?
