O.K. So I discovered this morning that my kitty Harriat has some how managed to get tape worms. Strange, I thought, She is an indoor cat…and then it hit me! She is a fly chaser, and fly eater, so that problem was solved.
So I went to her vet and got some topical de-wormer, ya know, that greasy stuff you squirt between their shoulder blades, at the base of the cat’s neck so they can’t lick it ‘n all.
Well, Harriat CAN lick that spot, and she keeps licking the edge of then walking around gagging. Any body know of a way to get to not lick up the stuff?

I also have to watch for group grooming; my cats are siblings snd they frequently bathe each other. On flea treatment day I separate the friendly pairs for a couple of hours, until the medicine really spreads out….

She ended up being fine, but I had to wash the area with dawn dish liquid and the vet gave her muscle relaxers to stop the tremors. It should NOT be ingested though so wash the area thoroughly.
