My cousin was the person who handled fan letters at Disney for over 10 years – she even ran into Captain Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp) in the commissary one day and talked him into going to see two local children that idolized him and were sick! (She said he was very nice).

No, the apostrophe is used for possessive statements, like “The house fly’s legs are hairy” (when you are talking about one fly).
If you are talking about more than one fly the apostrophe goes at the end … “There are fights when two flys’ territories overlap.”
HOWEVER, it’s is a contraction of “it is”, rather than a possessive, so you would say “The house fly defends its territory.”
And you wonder why people find English confusing. 🙂
