Hi everyone, I’m new. I discovered Windstone editions yesterday and I think I’m hooked :ghost:

I’ve already ordered myself a Puffin, Tiger and circle of cats. I love the detail that goes into these ornaments and I can’t wait for them to arrive – it’ll probably take a while though, as I live in the U.K!

As you can probably gather, I like cats! I’m also mad for anything mystical and I think I will have to get myself a Poad at somepoint!

          Hello! Welcome!

Welcome!! So you love cats, huh? Well, you are definitely among friends here. (Check out thread “Caturday 2013” – it’s a gas) I got Puffin, Tiger and the Circle of Cats as gifts years ago and I love them! You’ll get hooked on the poads as well (Check out the thread “Poads Like…”) They are absolutely adorable as well as beautiful. Have fun!

Thank you everyone! I will definitely look up those threads rock-reader! πŸ™‚

I’ve been wondering, I thought a poad was a budgie cross guinea pig but the name (to me) suggests a pigeon crossed with a toad! Which is right? πŸ™‚

Welcome! I am pretty sure your first guess is right. I had read somewhere on here that poads are like a parrot and guinea pig cross. If you like cats, which I think we all do on here, have you seen the flap cats that are for sale on here and on ebay?

Looking for rainbow or pink & teal grab bags!

Poads(tm) most closely resemble budgie / guinea pig hybrids, but their bums are rounder, and they have stubby little tails that guinea pigs lack entirely.
They have no toad in them. I just made the name up and it stuck.

                    Hey, I was partly right!
I thought the Poads’ heads/faces were patterned after Budgies (also known as Parakeets)! I used to have a pretty green budgie when I was a kid, they are so cute and intelligent! πŸ™‚

It also makes more sense now about the guinea pig back end, although I initially thought ‘hampster’. I was trying to figure out how the ‘-oad’ worked in with the name, and just couldn’t figure that part out.

Good to know! Thanks for the full explanation, Melody!
