As some of you know, Frank is my busted unicorn father. I plan on fixing him up with some apoxie and a touch of paint. I ordered the apoxie today, so I’ll post update photos when I begin the repair process. What I’m thinking of doing is building up a few layers to approximate the shape, since a fair chunk of him was lost. After that, I would add another layer for texturing. Does that seem like a good way to approach it?

Here you can see the majority of the damage.

Here’s another missing piece, and his little hooves.

I don’t think he’s a lost cause but I know it’s gonna take a little elbow grease to get him fixed up.

        Oh, poor Frank!

You have a job ahead of you, that’s for sure, but it will be worth it. Please post progress and finished pictures.

        Life is beautiful.

Did a little work on Frank, and on Gary, my new old dragon.

Here you can see Frank’s hoofies.

This is where the majority of the work is going on. All the big chunks came out here, so rather than trying to do it in one go, I figured I’d start small and build up. I figured, why the heck not do it this way. It’s not like I could really mess him up further, right?

Yeah, anyway, in retrospect, wish I had gotten some of the white apoxie sculpt rather than the ‘natural’ color, but I kind of figured it’d be beige and didn’t think on it further. Next time I’ll know.

          This is Gary.

He was jealous of Frank’s swaggy chain so I gave him one of my bracelets to wear. He has some smaller chips on his claws and horns and those were easier to patch up.

Here you can see the sculpting I did on his larger horn.

          And on his little feets.

Gary is going to need some repainting so I’ll have to match up the colors and also find a good gold. Some of his blue and lavender accent scales are also going to need to be touched up.

More photos to come as I do more work on these guys! Would anyone who has a sitting father unicorn be willing to do me a solid and take some detail photos so I can try and resculpt him accurately? I’d appreciate it immensely.
