If you’re thinking of bidding on any of these just be aware they are repaints! Not ebay editions from Melody, P.S., Jennifer, or anybody else that I am aware of. I just wanted some of the new people around here to be cautious because it’s not stated in the auctions that they are repaints, but by the prices that are suggested you might think that they are really special OOAKs. I just wanted to keep anyone from being fooled. (not saying the seller is saying they ARE from Melody, etc, but they aren’t saying they are not either)
I really hope whoever is dropping $500 on that Dragon Trio knows that as well

4. September Raffle Prize 2022 AHD Male GriffinI mean, some of them aren’t bad looking, but the prices alone almost suggest that they are very valuable OOAKs. Maybe to certain collectors they may be worth that amount, but it’s only fair that the buyers know with they are purchasing. These are the confusion that repaints can cause when sellers don’t fully disclose all the information.

I just noticed the dragon trio has Test Paint in the description….that’s super not allowed isn’t it? it’s making it seem even more like a Melody special piece to a newer buyer who might not know any better…

4. September Raffle Prize 2022 AHD Male GriffinAwe thanks, but I just wanted to look out for everyone who might have been confused. It honestly took me a second to look over that large gargoyle because I wasn’t 100% sure, but it’s also a repaint.
The only Large Cat Gargoyle done so far I believe was an autumn themed one that looked very different. It was also the leafy one, not the bat one.
Oh, I didn’t see it said test paint. Maybe it is??? I dunno, but I don’t THINK it is.
*edit* Oh you’re right, it DOES say Test Paint! I don’t know about that one then… maybe John or Melody would need to be asked about that, but I really don’t remember that being from Melody or anyone from Windstone. There might have been one and I just don’t remember, but it looks like the same style as the other ones that are being sold.

I haven’t no, but it’s not illegal or against the rules to sell repaints on ebay technically. That dragon trio one is sort of bordering the false advertising though with that “test paint” verbage if it is in fact a repaint.

There is nothing illegal about this, or even saying test paint, but the combo of elements is very misleading, I think. I don’t know if it’s intentional or not, but it’s not a good thing overall.
Note: This person MIGHT mean no harm, so let’s not slam them without knowing more, and lets keep our opinions as to the beauty of these to ourselves for now. 🙂

My art: featherdust.comThank you for the heads up. I thought they were real Penas and I was surprised at the quality of three of the pieces. I also see that someone has made a bid of $499 on the Trio of Dragons (which I liked but couldn’t afford). Actually I am relieved that Melody didn’t do those four….I hope John can prevent anyone from buying a repaint that they think is the real thing.
