Well, hello everybody. Bit shy am I but hopefully you all can see past that?
I’m a bit awkward around people, having a mental health disorder that makes me and strangers almost incompatible. xD Not in the sense that I’m hostile, just that I’m terrified of new people. It’s taken me 35 mins to sum up the courage to post here. Oh, and I often say more than I should. =/ So pardon that. I don’t try to be way out there.
lol…. Um *coughs*
I’ve been watching the Reptangle’s DevArt and haunting this site for a long time. Don’t really have the money to purchase any of the lovely sculptures but I can sitll stare at them. Right? I suppose the rest of you do too. =P
I’ve considered saving up for one of the paint your owns but does anybody know if you can paint them with water based acrylics? I paint my pictures with those. Or do you need to airbrush them? I’ve read some people aurbrush and I wondered if that was simply a have to.
Well anyways, I hope to try and become a good member on here. Hope to talk to a few of you!
December 22, 2012 at 8:59 am #890372Hi Riverspell, it’s nice to meet you! 😀 I can totally sympathize with the social awkwardness, I don’t have it as intensely as you (I took drama classes as a kid which helped me a lot) but I do have it. But you shouldn’t worry about being nervous here! The people here are really friendly and awesome! 😀
As far as I know, most PYO artists actually do use acrylics and some people have even coloured them with tea, using it as a stain so how you decorate your PYO is really up to you I think. 🙂
Check out my finished artwork at http://falcolf.deviantart.com/ and my sketch/studio blog at http://rosannapbrost.tumblr.com/
Excellent!
December 22, 2012 at 3:20 pm #890380Welcome! I often say more than I should, too! You should fit right in. 🙂
Seriously, though, this is a great place with awesome people. I hope you have a lot of fun here!
December 22, 2012 at 6:03 pm #890391Hello! And welcome >.<
December 22, 2012 at 7:07 pm #890398Welcome! Yes, you can use water-based acryllics and a brush to paint the PYOs. (I know this from reading not from experience, so can’t give much advice). You will find tips in the “Paint Your Own” thread, and maybe some of the artists on the Forum can also give suggestions. 🙂
December 22, 2012 at 11:38 pm #890404Welcome! I prolly say more than I should all the time *sigh* 🙂 Glad to have you here!

December 23, 2012 at 4:34 am #890416Thank you guys for the warm welcome!
It’s good to know I can paint them with acrylics. I don’t really have the money or experiance to invest in a new type of coloring. lol
December 23, 2012 at 5:41 pm #890426Welcome and don’t worry–you’ll fit right in–you love Windstones right? then you’ll fit right in! I’m not much of an artist but I have painted pyos in acrylics and like others have said–use your imagination–that’s why Melody sculpted the pyos for us to do just that. I think that’s great of an artist to create something to unlease the creative genuis in all of us.
Yeah, all of us say more than we should and this forum probably knows more about me than people closest to me. We encourage one another and no vent is too small–we give encouragement to all.
Hope when you get that pyo and paint it, you’ll share pictures of it with us.
