Are the images put on before the glazing process or after?
My next question is have you thought about using some of the sketches as mug or Tshirt desings? I think a Kirin laundry shectch would be an awesome Tshirt or mug.

The mugs are produced by cafe press,I don’t know how they do it but those images are really permanent, and look just like they are under the glaze!!
Yes, I was going to offer sketches somehow.

I was thinking Kirin sketch on a mug. I love my mugs and that would awesome. I’d also like T-shirts w/ the sketches and X-mas cards.
I just didn’t want to buy a mug and have the image flake off.

For whatever it’s worth, I’ve been using a cafepress mug nearly daily for some years now (big tea drinker) and the image has really held up! The only marring it’s gotten is from me stirring my spoon too vigorously, it’s left some silver marks on the white insides of the mug. If they still use the same process today, it seems to be pretty durable!

No, the image doesn’t flake off! I have had some of these cafepress mugs for years, and they show no signs of wear.

Sun Dragon Koi #3My uncle had an mug image press. I’m not sure of the exact process but I do know it used heat just like a tee shirt press. The mugs came pre-glazed. I think he print off the image on some sort of special thermal transfer paper then fused the image to the mug with the press. As far as I know the images are pretty permanent and don’t rub/flake off at all. I don’t know what cafepress uses but it gives you an idea of how they might do it.

Well,I tried to put a mug with a sketch on it into the Windstone cafe press store last night. I spent about half an hour trying to figure out how to add new items to the Windstone store, and I could not find a way to do it!!- so I finally ran out of time and gave up.
They must of changed the layout of the website since I used it last!
