Hey everybody!
Its been a while. I’ve had a busy year (omg, two years, how time passes!) as an art instructor. Last year at about this time I decided to sit down and finish my novel, which I finally did this July. Currently my 240K worded monster (thats over a thousand pages if printed) file is in edit process, I need to slim it down to 190 or even 180, as no publishers would take such a monster and I do not wish to cut it. I’ve written the resume and am intensively at work with my Betas, which feature some awesome people who write themselves aswell two lectors. Its not easy to write a book. Its horribly hard to really work on a book with publishing aim. I’ve edited as much as I’ve written, but that really helped. Since my theme isnt Sword and Sorcery but world building illustrations kind of flowed naturally with it. It was also a joy to add an illustration or even two to each chapter before I sent it out to my Betas. I aimed for woodcut style and I’d like to show you a few. I think I have a total of 50, constantly growing.
I wont go into depth of the novel, but the images are more or less chronologically ordered.
The language of the novel is German, the title (placeholder) THERDEBAN. Its for young adult and mostly is about the survival of a girl in a world of maneaters. The world is as breathtaking and different as it is harsh and horrible.
One of my personal aims during writing was to lure the reader into a confidence and twist the whole plot against expectations. But nuff said, here be arts. The illustrations were made with photoshop.
Happy End, of course 😀
