Is it possible to have a dragon made custom? Like having color shift on a fledgling, specific eye color, details etc, etc? What would and extra cost for this be estimated at?

Right now we don’t do custom stuff.
      Just no time.
I have trying to think of some way to do this, since there are so many requests!
There are lots of FANTASTIC painters on this forum who do custom PYO dragons though!

Could you make a PYO in a different form than the two available? And i really like color shift. i think it would make a really nice fledgling as well as some others.

Due to copyright issues they only currently have the two available PYO dragons. and I don’t know how many members that do PYOs would have color shift paint, as it is a very expensive auto paint (I’ve looked into it) but you can ask in the PYO thread if you decide for one of the PYO’s.

Other than that when we have something we really like, we “squeak” for it in the squeak thread you found and wait and see if it happens or not… sometimes Melody really likes an idea and will paint some…

I plan to make other PYO dragons eventually, but other than an Oriental dragon (and the half-finished sitting one that we haven’t been able to find since our move) none are in the works yet.
Yes the color shift paint is gorgeous, but it is insanely expensive!

I know that drag0nfeather has worked with colorshifting paint…

She’s the only one I know of that has too… Some day I will, I just need to stop spending all my money on Windstones so I can make that investment, lol!

I have used it before (see my Rosedust PYO). It really only works very well on smooth surfaces such as pebbles, or large surfaces like big dragon sculpts (emperors, maybe a SK would work). The effect is greatly diminished on small pieces with a lot of texture!!

It is weird paint. Sometimes it hardly shows at all, sometimes it looks great. I have an Emperor dragon that I blasted with a heavy coat of color shift paint and then set on the floor. It looks fantastic from the top, with the light falling on it, but isn’t too impressive at eye level. This stuff is really perfect for cars that move around in the sunlight and are big and smooth.

I have always dreamt of a custom Windstone. One to be painted to look like my character Nela with that magical rainbow paint. Maybe someday when Melody has time, it could happen. 🙂

Yeah– I noticed this as well. I tried some blue-green-yellow shifting paint on a few objects and I noticed that sometimes it only looks cool from some angles. Otherwise it just sort of looked like I painted things with metallic spray paint, which kinda is not the point especially since the paint is WAY expensive!! This stuff is best suited for automotive and stuff like motorcycle parts and helmets, etc… like you said, smooth surfaces that are outside in bright light a lot! I think it looked good on the curlies you guys did because they are essentially a low, squashed circle shape.

OH! I didn’t realize Rosedust was a color shift, I see it now that you point it out. I can see how/why smaller textured pieces don’t work so well with it.. I do like the idea of a pebble line in color shift ‘n I love my curly n it, but he isn’t as textured as many others.. I really love my GB uni in it…

I think a fledgling wouldn’t be so bad, really… maybe worth a test run? at the least he could be an ebay piece if you don’t like it 🙂 assuming there is paint left XD I also think black accents on it might do a lil better than the green like curlies got, maybe it’ll contrast a bit better with the color shift… my thoughts anyway 🙂

“emerald violet shift” fledgling and baby ki-rin were already on eBay last year, end of October/first of November. Maybe one of these days we will get pictures posted.

There was a color shift fledge for ebay:

                        http://windstoneeditions.com/content/emerald-violet-shift-test-paint-1

The quest 1 prize fledge also had some:

I know there ARE some color-shift pebbles knocking around the factory somewhere – but I think there was some issue with getting the paint on smoothly for those? I can’t remember for sure though.
