Everyone please send all your good thoughts and prayers to the people in Alberta who have had floods and are under tornado watches right now. There are forum members there, too!
I’m thinking of everyone there and hope you are all safe.
Life is beautiful.

You probably wouldn’t want the crap we got last night though. You might not have any crops left to water.
I was in one of the areas in Edmonton that was harder hit and slept right through the whole thing. At our house we got about 54mm (2″) of rain in around an hour with a side of pea sized hail. I heard some areas got up to 125mm rain and some of hail was as large as golf balls. I’m not sure how much of my Mom’s garden is going to survive as some of the plants got shredded. We’re fortunate in that we had no flooding in our house (especially since that where my room is). The roof just leaked and there was a little water damage.
July 13, 2012 at 2:32 am #883228I’m in Northern Alberta and we have not had any major storm activity as yet but our valley is filled with smoke from forest fire north of us. It is getting hard to see the sun and the smell is none to pleasant. I hope that everyone in the fire areas are safe and that it does not move into our valley. We are also getting the smoke from fires currently burning in Russia. I’m leaving for Mexico in a couple of days and it concerns me to be leaving my husband and kids with the possibility of fire.
Everyone be safe and I hope that all the terrible weather ends.

Eewwwhhh sounds like that garbage we had a week or so ago in that storm that destroyed Ohio and the east coast. It’s a tough call though. Our lakes and rivers are down almost 2 feet, and becuase we’ve had no rain we can’t seem to get any moisture to fall. We did get a little rain after that storm, but not nearly enough.
They harvested the wheat almost 5 weeks early and it was really short which means there will be a hay shortage. The entire corn crop may fail as well….:(. But I’m not sure I want to deal w/ the damage it sounds like your storm is causing. I’m glad to hear that you can through it okay though.

Sun Dragon Koi #3July 13, 2012 at 3:06 am #883233Yikes sorry to hear you are having such bad weather. There is a lot of flooding going on here right now too. 4.5 inches of rain in two hours early this morning where we are in Texas.
Stay safe!!
I hope the drought stops too. That was scary around here last year. The weather has been so intense the last few years. Is there anywhere that hasn’t had drought, fires, tornados, blizzards, etc? If so I think I need to move there.July 13, 2012 at 5:07 am #883238Thank you for you good thoughts 🙂
I am in rural Alberta and still under tornado watches and a possible lightning storm so far it is eerily calm. I was fortunate no flooding yesterday. Keep safe everyone.July 13, 2012 at 6:51 am #883242I just found out a couple hours ago my brother’s car just about got turned into a boat. The parking lot at his apartment turned into a lake and made the news. His car was probably the only one in the complex that didn’t go for a swim. Why? He’s working nights this month and worked till 5am and got home after the parking lot flooded.
