Hello out there, I really hope someone will be able to help me.. I don’t really know where to begin but this seems like a good place to start! I have recently come into posession of several Windstone pieces (inherited from my dad), and though I will keep one or two for sentimental reasons I will be looking at selling the majority to good homes.
Basically I wondered what I need to do because after browsing other forum posts its clear each piece has a special name (I don’t know the names of my pieces) and they are not in original packaging, a couple even have a couple of flaws (from being knocked about moving house etc). Also I am in New Zealand so I am guessing postage will be pretty expensive.
If anyone would be willing to offer me any advice on whether it is a) worth doing and b) where on earth to start(!) it would be very much appreciated 🙂
Thanks! 😀
January 8, 2012 at 7:50 am #868563This question is answered on the “frequently asked questions” page under Miscellaneous – which windstone figurine do I have. Basically browse the pictures in the online store and also check out the ‘windstone encyclopedia’ at astralcastle.com (link found in the answer to the question on the FAQ page).
Also, if you have a photobucket or other photo sharing account, you can post links to pictures of your windstones and we can see what you have. This is also useful as it is best to show your item to potential buyers so we know what you have. If your pieces are some of the older, harder to find ones, I am sure there are probably people willing to pay shipping from new zealand. I know I did to purchse some pieces from a store there that I found through the web. ( thecrystalball.co.nz ) They might be interested in your pieces or may be able to help you find local buyers/collectors interested in them as well.
Good luck and welcome to the forum. Beware, windstones can be addictive 🙂
January 8, 2012 at 7:50 am #868564The easiest way to identify what you have and thus figure out what they are worth and if international shipping is feasible would be to post pictures of the pieces and let collectors identify them. It can be very hard to describe a specific statue and then its specific color accurately. Pictures make it much easier.
January 8, 2012 at 12:49 pm #868571If you cannot post photos, you can even look Windstone up on google, or in the astral castle encyclopedia and post links to the specific sculpture/color you have. That will at least help in identifying them. Once that is done, most people here are pretty good with prices and can give you a rough idea what is worth selling.

As others have said, even if the shipping is high, it can be worth it for some pieces. Also, we do have a few Australian members.
January 9, 2012 at 2:55 am #868644Thanks for your help everyone! I will try and upload some photos asap to try and get the ball rolling. Should I just post the link to this thread or is there somewhere else it would be better placed? 🙂
January 9, 2012 at 3:27 am #868646I’d say this is the right place for it. You should be able to edit your first post to change the title of this thread if you mean to start selling.
If not, you can always start a new thread…
January 9, 2012 at 3:52 am #868651Hi everyone, I have just taken some quick photos to share with you and uploaded them to photobucket. You can see there that not all are Windstone pieces but I thought I would put them all up in case anyone is interested in anything else 🙂
Here is the link http://s1143.photobucket.com/albums/n640/Holly_Rendall/Collectables
I look foward to seeing what you think. Thanks 🙂

page 1 photo 4 is a black mother unicorn
page 2 photo 1 is a black baby unicorn
page 3 photo 3 is an old green male dragon
page 4 photo 3 is a white wizard, looks like the large one but I know nothing about the wizard sculptsJanuary 9, 2012 at 4:10 am #868655Thanks 🙂 the wizard is a very large piece so probably is the large one.
January 9, 2012 at 4:10 am #868654I would say that aside from the Green Male Dragon, which is pretty common (at least around here), the Black Unicorns are moderately common. I can’t say anything about the Wizard since I don’t really keep track of those.
I would think that your best bet would be to start a new selling thread indicating in the title that you are in New Zealand, this might help get the attention of some “relatively” local potential buyers.
Good luck! 🙂
January 14, 2012 at 2:52 am #869078It is the large wizard in white, not the small wizard in white.
