Hello everyone!
I’ve been collecting dragons since 1997, and currently have well over 100 of various types and materials (not counting jewelry or wall art). For my 30th birthday my husband even had a cake made with a dragon topper from Mike’s Amazing Cakes, and that dragon is a part of my collection now! You name it and I likely have a dragon made from it – bronze & copper, silver, Lego, glass, World of Warcraft, gumpaste, wood, sawdust, rubber, stuffed animal, ceramic, resin…
I have six Windstone dragons, with a seventh on the way…
-rainbow adult male dragon
-rainbow hatching dragon
-black gold young dragon
-peacock fledgling dragon
-amethyst curled dragon
-copper patina young oriental dragon
-and on the way, a silver spectral dragonRight now my copper patina young oriental dragon is my prize possession of all of my collection. I’ve wanted an oriental dragon for years, ever since I first saw one on the internet, but was never successful at finding one. I’ve been watching the blog for about a year, and when this batch came out last fall, I sent the link to my husband and said “I want this for Christmas!” They sold out within a day or two, and I resigned myself to not having one since he never shops that early. Imagine my surprise when I opened up that package on Christmas morning – he had ordered it within minutes of my email, having my best friend get it and hold it for him until the holiday. That was my best present this year, almost more for the thought/effort than for the gift itself!
Today I bought a new display case, as my two smaller cases were beginning to get cramped plus their weight capacity was not sufficient for the Windstone portion of my collection. My husband finally came in to see the new case in place and filled and noted that there is a lot of room left…that was dangerous of him to notice!
Anyway, I felt it was apropos to say hello to everyone at this point. As the title states, I live in Seattle with my husband and our dogs, two of whom are trying to sleep on my feet as I type this. I look forward to hanging out here and seeing what other new designs and paint combinations are developed!

January 9, 2012 at 3:18 pm #868665Thanks! So far this is definitely fun, though maybe not for my pocketbook. 🙂 I also have a correction to make – my fledgling is actually Emerald Peacock, not Peacock. I forgot about all his green! 🙂
