Howdy, I’m new and I am afraid I have made a very bad mistake.
I recently attend a local auction. This auction is held just about every week but always has new, well not NEW, but fresh items. The owners are one of those people who buy storage units like you see on TV. They then separate out the better stuff and put it up for auction at their auction house. We have gotten a great many deals there and, frankly, it is fun. Am I rambling again?
Anyway, a few weeks back they had some Windstone items up. I thought they were cool and purchased some, Ok most, of them. There were three Unicorn foals two white and one black, a winged cat and a young unicorn who was missing his horn. I got them at a good price and was fully expecting to put them on Ebay and make a small profit. They all had seen better days. The cat was missing an ear, paw and part of his wing. The foals had scuffs and chips and the young had a re-glued broken back leg to go with his lost horn.
(I guess some of you saw that auction on Ebay with three of them. I kept the cat and the better white foal.)
Well I fell in love with the cat and started doing research to see where this sassy little fellow came from. Then I discovered this site….. and the dragons! Oh the dragons! Dragons are one of my great loves and when I saw the full line of Windstone dragons I knew I wanted one, or really all, of them. The detail! The colors! The, the… the scales! Oh I sit here wondering how I am ever going to explain this to my pocket book.
I have been, well still am really, a huge Breyer horse collector so I have taught my wallet to expect certain large monetary withdraws from time to time. I guess I’ll just have to train it a bit more.
I am looking forward to my first scaled purchase.
September 30, 2011 at 5:55 am #858622Hello and welcome!
Yes, Windstones are HIGHLY addictive, but we’re all here to support each other, haha!
Congrats on your recent purchases! May you have many more to come!September 30, 2011 at 5:58 am #858623Welcome! They are super addicting! I collect breyers too, I think there’s a few forum members who do.
I got into windstones sort of the same way, except I bought my first few at a garage sale. Then I moved up to buying them off kijiji when I could find good deals and now I’m on this forum everyday xD They suck you in! 😛
September 30, 2011 at 5:58 am #858624LOL 🙂 Welcome to the addiction Ummm… I mean collecting 😉
September 30, 2011 at 6:05 am #858625Thank you for the warm welcome. I think I have decided that gryphons are almost as cool as dragons. Oh what is a girl to do but start the hunt?
September 30, 2011 at 6:11 am #858626Hello and welcome!
You have found the right place! Many of us are collectors(hoarders)!September 30, 2011 at 6:22 am #858629Have you seen the PYO (Paint Your Own) section yet? I was just looking at a Keeper by Opal dragon that is painted like a Diamondback Rattler. It is amazing what some of these people can do, and it is exciting to see a design that really hits you and have it tweaked and painted just for you.
September 30, 2011 at 9:57 am #858632Hi, I am also a huge Breyer Collector, have been for about 15 plus years. Welcome to Windstone!
September 30, 2011 at 10:51 am #858633Welcome to the Windstone Addiction Center-we don’t cure your addiction, we support it! 😀 This is the nicest group of people you’ll ever meet! I used to be a big My Little Pony collector and posted on both of the pony forums-there are nice people there too but there are soo many catty people or folks you just cant trust. I guess its because both sites are huge compared to the Windstone forum. We’re like a small town-everyone here knows everyone else. 😀
Welcome to the forum! Ive been admiring Windstones for 9 years and collecting for 4. Melody is an exceptionally talented artist, and her work only gets more beautiful (or more cute) with time 😀

September 30, 2011 at 2:20 pm #858648Welcome!
As the folks here have said, Windstones are totally addictive. I started collecting them thinking I’d just buy one of each of the white unicorns and then I’d be done, but no. I’m totally hooked and my wallet is turned inside out, XD. Good luck training yours to absorb the cost of these things, cause they’re 100% worth it!September 30, 2011 at 2:56 pm #858650Welcome Robin! lol We are all addicts in here! I have been on this forum for about 3 months, and it is full of wonderful, caring, smart people. So, welcome to the support group where people’s wallets cry just like yours, but we all have a blast doing it! 🙂
September 30, 2011 at 3:54 pm #858660Welcome welcome! I was so pleasantly surprised to see your name in the postings! I bought the Young Uni from you, the one with the glued leg. He’s sitting right by me right now. <3 Stick around! This place is great for supporting Windstone Addiction!
