We are having nervous tummys about the packaging for the Young Grab Bag Unicorns. In that last bunch we shipped, 2 were damaged. Did anyone else get a damaged one they haven’t told us about? Have they all arrived at their destinations? Did any seem to be Lucky Unicorns, where the box looked as if they should have been damaged but they weren’t? Please report here! Thanks!
September 29, 2011 at 7:36 pm #858500Susie, I ordered 1, and it got here just fine through UPS.
September 29, 2011 at 7:37 pm #858501Hey Susie,
Mine arrived okay. However, his front hooves were sticking out (the box was kind of thin at the hoof point) and he was half out of his bag. His tail was also exposed on the highest point.
I remarked to my husband at the time I was surprised he made it okay, but I thought the poor packers were probably just in a rush with all of us frothing at the mouth!

September 29, 2011 at 7:51 pm #858502Mine came today and were fine. They were UPS, if that makes a difference to you. Are you having a problem with both carriers or just one?
September 29, 2011 at 7:54 pm #858504Ours got here fine.

*hyperventilates* Do we get pictures? XD
Also, as far as the carriers thing.. I’ve been noticing that USPS packages have been handled like trash lately. I’ve gotten a LOT of packages from them that are unreasonably dented and partially crushed. Not sure if people’s damaged unis have been going through USPS or not, but I thought it was worth mentioning.

Our new batch doesn’t fit as tightly and we’ve been relying on the tightness to keep them in place – and from the description that kiya gives, that hasn’t been working very well! Generally the probablem is that they are shaped like a little wedge and if dropped on their heads, they move down through the inserts and bump their horns and get horn damage. These guys are so labor intensive we DO NOT want them breaking during travel!
If you’ve had a damaged or Lucky Unicorn who managed to barely escape with his life, please tell me if the box had numbers stamped on the bottom or the bottom was blank.
September 29, 2011 at 8:02 pm #858507Kiya: Was his box the kind with numbers in black ink on the bottom, or no markings at all?
September 29, 2011 at 8:09 pm #858508Oh… Um, I don’t know for sure. I traded him. He’ll get to his new home Monday and we can find out then.
I don’t remember any markings. His horn was fine, it was his bum and feet hangin’ out!
Also, I remember thinking this was odd when I went to reship him, his outter box was smaller than on other things I’ve gotten – less padding around it. I turned him on his side when I reshipped so the most packing would be between the bigger box and his pokey bits.
September 29, 2011 at 8:21 pm #858509One of mine the horn had come off in transit, but it was as simple as gluing it back in place and it was good as new so I didn’t even mention it.
There was no damage at all, just the glue must have come loose.

September 29, 2011 at 8:56 pm #858518Mine have been in customs since the 26th… :~
I’ll post back when they get here.
September 29, 2011 at 9:06 pm #858521No no, no damage to the socket at all. The entire horn came out of the predrilled hole on the sculpt. None of the paint was even damaged and the horn still had it’s nub to re-put-the-horn-in-the-hole XD
I think it just didnt have enough glue. The horn was loose int he bag basically, but nothing at all had even a scratch on it even though. So it was fine.
