I may be squeaking alone, but Melody, will there be any bright, gaudy, “obnoxious” colors done on dragons in the forseeable future? I’m thinking along the lines of the flame, violet flame, copper mauve, red-violet, ruby-blue-and-gold; colors that blended, mixed and meshed all over the dragon. There have been so many earthy, natural colors, I’d like to see something bold-like an orange/yellow and turquoise, something tropical like flowers and fish….or mauve and navy blue like a dying sunset. Just some suggestions 🙂
Or, has the abundance of earthy colors been due to a finiky red paint issue still?
August 17, 2011 at 2:57 pm #853698I would like to see Turquoise or Turquoise Pearl on everything. And red paint issue aside, I am a HUGE fan of almost anything with red. Thats why I hunted down every single dragon type that was painted ruby and red fire.
But as for bright production colors, we’ve had emerald, peacock, emerald peacock, amethyst, ruby, red fire, rainbow…. So time for some lighter ocean blues maybe? Turquoise would fit that niche perfectly.
I;ve never been the hugest fan of Violet flame BUT I’ve only seen it painted on fledgies and curls. Perhaps if I saw it on an Emperor I would change my tune. 😉
The only bright color that I would NOT ever want to see a dragon in is yellow.
The next color line-up I’d like to see production or LP… Turquoise, Black Emerald and Serpentine (but only if the latter has the rusty red highights like the Ebay male did). Serpentine is iffy with me though. I’m with Wolfen. I generally like much louder colors.
Darker purples would be nice too. Like the Purple Turquoise fledgling.
August 17, 2011 at 7:13 pm #853734No, the abundance of earth/ copper colors are because I wasn’t paying attention to what we had already done. When a nice new version appeared, (such as the Nutmeg color P.S. came up with) I said OOHH! Paint curlies like that! Not realizing that we had just done Toasted Pearl and copper patina ones.
It didn’t occur to me that they looked that similar, but I guess they were all copper-based life forms.August 17, 2011 at 7:26 pm #853736PINK! I would like a complete line of pink dragons in the store so that everyone who wants one can afford them and can get them. I personally would buy a pink Emperor, OW, Scratcher (I love the one in Melody’s Gallery pictures), Fledgling, Riser, Sitter, and Hatching Emperor and Empress.
SERPENTINE! That color is blah; it does nothing for me except save me money.
EARTH TONES! One is nice, two are more of the same, three are monotonous because you already have two that look just like it.
August 17, 2011 at 7:53 pm #853740No complaints from me….copper is my favorite color! hehe…(dodges paperwads being thrown by Wolfen~~~)
August 17, 2011 at 8:02 pm #853742I’m so broke right now, but in the distant future I would love to see some turquoise and or teal colored dragons. I would also love to see some more pink dragons – like the Pearly Pink Lap. I’m still hoping for a coiled momma dragon that way.
But as said. Take your time….August 17, 2011 at 8:23 pm #853746I would love to see any bright, gaudy, “obnoxious” colors on dragons in general, but especially on fledglings! I’m not supposed to be spending right now, but I could not resist an obnoxious fledgling

DITTO! I love the “gaudy” colors, rainbow was my favorite production color so far! ….but I also really like the serpentine color **ducks and runs**
August 19, 2011 at 10:34 pm #853910It looks as if someone at Windstone was really good at anticipating what we want. The Turkey Griffin and the Barn Swallow Young and Curly are bright, gaudy, and in-your-face colors. I wouldn’t have thought I would like that type of coloring on a Griffin, but I do; I like those colors on all three sculpts. It is nice to see a new color scheme with such bright colors.
