I commissioned Scenceable in April and got my commission in late July. Finally got a video of it and thought I would show it off here. Photos don’t do her work justice, as it’s so lovely from different angles. Not that my video does it justice either! Just a fantastic piece of work and I’m so glad I commissioned her! 🙂

August 8, 2011 at 9:50 pm #853060that is a truly beautiful piece!!! She did a lovely job, I particularly like the base!
I’ll confess though….I’ve always wondered…how do you clean the flocking on delicate pieces like that, without messing up the look of the mane and tail work??
August 9, 2011 at 2:05 am #853083Wow, thanks so much for the video, it’s really cool! I love the mirror you have them displayed on, they look great. I’m so glad you’re enjoying them!
Purplecat- the hair is stuck in quite well so you can get a little comb or nail brush and style it. I usually just spray mine with conditioner, then brush them clean. The hair gets really messy while shipping and so a bit of brushing and styling is always needed. The way it’s glued on it would be hard to mess it up… the hair only lies a certain way, and is strongly held in place.
I could imagine that a whole ton of dust might be hard to get off though. 🙂
You’re too kind making this thread, I’m so flattered… 🙂

August 9, 2011 at 1:13 pm #853104I’m so honored you put it up on your Facebook page! I wish I had one of those HD video camera Flip things like my brother, this was just with my Canon Powershot S5IS.
And I loved the beveled mirror, it dresses it up and makes it so I can move it around without touching the base.
Purplecat, I’m keeping it in a display case with a mirrored back so I don’t have to deal with dust, OR my cats trying to give them a ‘grooming.’ 😉 Scenceable styled the forelocks wonderfully, and the flow of the hair, it’s not going anywhere.
Still working on getting special lighting set up where I have them displayed, such wonderful work deserves the best presentation! 🙂
August 9, 2011 at 4:26 pm #853111Thank you for answering!! I had always wondered about that…and yep…Adaneth, my cats would be a major concern as well for that exact same reason!
They’ll groom just about anything with any sort of ‘hair’. My daughter has a toy stuffed pony that’s constantly having it’s mane and tail ‘washed’ by one of our cats while it’s being held in a ‘cat style bear hug’.
Once or twice I’ve woken up to my eyebrows being groomed by my cat Maya. >_<
