Melody, I just wanted to tell you that the new lavender eyed “Silver” wolf chicks are-AWESOME! I don’t have one yet, so I can’t say Ive seen them in person, but they are adorable! This new color is 100% better than the former wolf color. Im so excited they are production pieces too-THANK YOU for that!
EDIT: OMG I just saw this in the description of the male wolf griffin:
“As of 6/14/11 this browner wolf color with green eyes is being retired and will be replaced with the new Silver Wolf color which is already available in the chicks.”and on the wolf mother griffin’s description:
“As of 6/14/11 this browner wolf color with green eyes is being retired and will be replaced with the new Silver Wolf color which is already available in the chicks.”So I got my questions answered, so this has turned from a question to a “good job!” post 😀
June 17, 2011 at 4:57 pm #848447It seems the male is being painted like this (only with green eyes/gems)
Really? Where did you see that? The male’s page says he’s being retired in the green/brown paint scheme. I’m really hoping the new male matches the chicks. I’ve been waiting to buy a male, and I think this is The One! <3

Well Tethra got a male griffin and posted pictures of him. Several people thought he looked different and asked for a better picture. Jennifer and Melody chimed in and said the paint scheme had evolved. Its on page 3 of the “Show your collection” thread. Here is Loki’s photo of her “version 2 wolf male griffin with green eyes”
June 17, 2011 at 5:14 pm #848451Huh! That’s interesting! Maybe that was Wolf 2.0, but now they’ll do Silver Wolf Beta? 😛
Dunno! I still hope for a male in the Silver Wolf coloration, complete with lavender eyes and gems. 😀
June 17, 2011 at 5:16 pm #848452The chickies are phenominal! I really like this color vs. the old wolf color

June 17, 2011 at 5:20 pm #848454I just got a surprise in the mail today! I was out shopping when these little guys popped in the store and apparently my hubby ordered me a set! He even remembered “Love, Fuzzy!”.
I’m excited to see that metallic eyes are making it to the production pieces now! :love:June 17, 2011 at 5:23 pm #848455those are really beautiful, I think it’s a definate improvement on the color scheme! Congrats Skeeter, that’s a really awesome surprise! 😀
June 17, 2011 at 5:27 pm #848457The new eye color is periwinkle . I never liked the green eyes in the griffins .

As I began painting batches of the male griffin in “wolf”, they morphed gradually towards the Silver Wolf color. I was trying to make them match the old wolf griffs that were painted at the old Windstone in CA, but still make him the way I wanted.I finally gave up and decided to forget the old look and just change the body color. I wanted to switch the eyes to a lighter metallic green color, but that was proving to be difficult. So, screw it, we changed the the eye color as well.
I really like the lavender color.June 17, 2011 at 9:28 pm #848493As I began painting batches of the male griffin in “wolf”, they morphed gradually towards the Silver Wolf color. I really like the lavender color.Ah! Thank you for clarifying. 😀 I absolutely love the new color – the eyes especially! Thank you!
June 18, 2011 at 6:14 pm #848587I really like the new color too. Can’t wait to see the bigger sculpts in it. Although I may miss the green eyes. I dont have any sculpts with green eyes yet
June 18, 2011 at 6:47 pm #848601I’d like to chime in and agree with the rest – I think these chicks are gorgeous and much improved over the brown version. (Although I’ll be keeping my brown wolf female and sitter!) I do want a male, at least, in the new color as well as the chicks.
Am also very happy to see them as production so I don’t have to ‘grab now!’ like a lot of the ones I’ve liked.
June 18, 2011 at 9:03 pm #848631I like it but not for me .
June 18, 2011 at 9:25 pm #848640Now I sort of regret selling off my old wolf griffin parents… I like the new color though, but i miss the green eyes

I would assume that the more silver colored green-eyes wolf griffins are from the very early batches, before the colors morphed.
