So since seeing the issues that Wampus has been having lately with sellers not properly packaging things before sending them off, I’ve decided to host a little gallery of broken Windstones on my website. I’d like to use the page as a means of warning sellers of the dangers of sending Windstones out not properly packaged. I MIGHT include a small tutorial on how I personally package Windstones via double boxing, but I’ll likely take that down once a more official packing tutorial has been made for the official Windstone site.
Please post pictures of your Windstones that have been broken, specifically from bad packaging! If you post here, I will likely be saving your image to my own website database and creating a webpage with it included, so if you can provide any details as to why the piece got broken (ie, what was or was not included in the packing materials, the condition of the box, etc) that would be really helpful!
Hopefully it goes without saying that if you’d rather me not use your pictures, don’t post them! If you’d like me to give credit as far as who took the pictures, or would like me to link to your website, let me know and I can include that too.
If you can’t post images on the forum, please PM me and I’ll send you my email address where you can send me the images directly.
To post an image on the forum, follow this code:
<_img src="@@@">
Remove the first underscore ( _ ), and put the URL (or link) of your image in between the quotes, replacing the @@@ signs.
I’ll start us off – I’ve only ever gotten one broken Windstone due to shipping issues:
This griffin was sent to me in a box that barely contained it (you can sort of see how big the box was from this picture), and was packed with only packing peanuts. It arrived with its tail broken off and part of its wing sheared off.

May 27, 2011 at 12:24 am #846396That’s a packing tutorial. I’m talking about a gallery that shows the consequences of not packing Windstones correctly.

She’s actually sending me these to see if I can fix them, Whew – that’s going to be a big job for me.
I’m posting these for her in the hopes that more will come out of the woodwork 🙂

Please visit My Webpage to see my art and PYO's that I've done in the past!May 27, 2011 at 1:20 am #846408omg this makes me want to cry, I don’t like seeing dead dragons. I’ve handled nicks, big scratches, and even decent sized chunks missing, but nothing like this. You’re amazing Hannah if you can put them back together.
May 27, 2011 at 1:35 am #846411Hannah, I don’t know if you’ve considered this option: there have been quite a few pictures of damaged Windstones posted over the years. I had a quick look using the search word “broken” and saw pictures of a damaged mother unicorn and of a small white wizard, and that was just taking 5 minutes to look at a few topics.
Some pictures might be from members who are no longer posting, but I honestly can’t see how they could mind you using their pictures.
In fact, just let me know if you need some help, and I’ll be happy to do the picture search and rescue for you when I have a moment.
May 27, 2011 at 1:35 am #846412Hehe.. I’ll do my best but it will be my first repair THIS major. Luckily I’m pretty familiar with the male sculpt so I’m really hoping that they’ll come out looking nice. I’ll take pictures for sure when I’m done 🙂

Maybe I’ll just run it by Jennifer to see if she sees any issue with me lifting pictures off the site. I can’t imagine anyone not wanting me to use them, but I never want to upset anyone either so I like to be extra careful 🙂
Thank you for offering your help! If you get a free moment and would like to take a look around, I’d definitely welcome it 🙂

The lovely Kyrin fixed himAnd here’s my headless young unicorn (who had been packed with a mother unicorn who was fine):
I was able to glue the head back on and there’s a pinhole that I need to fill at some point. Probably could use new paint on/around the seam.I don’t have any pictures of when Raiden’s Requiem, my black male unicorn, arrived.
May 27, 2011 at 2:41 am #846429Thank you so much Pegasi! I remember seeing the thread where Aubrey was fixed – Kyrin did an amazing job on those feet!

How to add a picture to the horors gallery:
-Click “upload a PYO photo” in the PYO gallery
-In the dropdown box that says “image galleries”, scroll almost to the very bottom, and select “windstone house of horors” (its a few entries above the ebay gallery)
-Upload a photo and click saveMay 27, 2011 at 4:31 am #846438Awesome! Thanks Pam 🙂
