For those of you that airbrush your PYOs, what kind of airbrush do you use? What are the pros and cons of the type/brand of airbrush you use?

          Hi WD 🙂

I have tried both single action, and dual action. Suction feed and gravity feed
Right now I have 6 airbrushes..

My 1st airbrush was a badger single action ~ It was an ok brush to start with, but its not very versatile

My 2nd & 3rd airbrush was a kit that included a gravity/suction Dual-action plus the compressor thru an automotive company called Eastwood. This kit was wonderful because it provided everything needed to start some real airbrushing…it was nice being able to try both kinds of airbrushes, to see what worked best for me.

I then bought another airbrush kit…just to try another brand~ The Master professional series~ to be very honest I have not been happy with these brushes…. I would’nt know where to start…they just seem very tempermental…sometime they work… most of the time they dont 🙁

My newest airbrush is a gravity feed dual-action brush… I found it on E-Bay for around $10.00….so i thought I would buy it for laughs….and to my suprise It works really well… Ive had no problems or issues with it… I also think it works better than my more pricey brushes!

Ive been thinking of tring the Paasch talon next 😳

I started out with a Master airbrush, grav-feed. Did not like it. It worked for a while, but like Kal said, tempermental is the word. I got it in a kit that had a compressor…not sure how well I like the compressor..but it works for now so I still use it. Will upgrade later though.

I have a Hi-Line by Iwata now, and I love it.*super hugs to Dfeathers for that, I love this baby*
I have had no problem with it, it also is a grav-feed. I have never used a different feed system.

Iwata you can tell is just made better. the parts run smoother together too and getting replacement parts is a hell of a lot easier. I have been using this one for, what… almost a year and a half I think.
I am not a solid airbrusher since I love the feel of brush painting, but you can definitely do some awesome color transitioning and detail work with it. The biggest thing is just keeping it clean.
