Hi All
I have a couple of Winstone Editions one of which was servely damaged in the earthquake in Christchurch NZ.
It is a Mother Gryffin over her clutch of eggs with a copyright Pena ’95 it holds a lot of semental value for me and I am wondering what I can do with it. I have all the major broken pieces. However I am based in Christchurh New Zealand so my options may be limited  . Any advice would be helpful,
Yours,
Michael

There are a few really talented repair people here on this forum, but it would most likely be to expensive to ship to the Us, pay for the repair and shipping back.
is it something you can try to fix yourself or find someone locally who repairs something similar to the Gyspum?February 23, 2011 at 10:46 pm #838961Erised wrote:Hi All

MichaelMy gosh , In the quake yesterday??
I don’t know if she still does repair work, but it wouldn’t hurt to ask Caisha, she is in Australia, at least that is in the same hemisphere. Search on her name in the “members” listing it will have her email.February 24, 2011 at 12:39 am #838962It seems like a long time ago already but yes yesterday’s quake. I am very lucky that all my friends and family are OK but so many of our family treasures are destroyed, I am hoping to save this one
February 24, 2011 at 1:06 pm #838963Welcome to the forum! It’s always good to welcome people from my corner of the world (well almost, just over the pond really!) I’m glad that you survived that earthquake!
I have two broken Windstones I have sent to Caisha. She is lovely to deal with. She is located in the Blue Mountains in NSW, so it would be cheaper to ship your griffin to her rather than the US. She charges very reasonable rates too. She has been extremely busy lately, so she might take a while to do them, but she stays in contact when she has your pieces. It wouldn’t hurt to ask her if she wants to fix your griffin.
Good luck! I hope your griffin feels better soon!

Oh goodness, I am so happy that you and your family are all right. What a terrible thing!
Caisha is very good at repairs. If you need, I think I have her email address. You said that you had a few broken pieces; one is the mother griffin gargoyle, what other ones were damaged?

February 24, 2011 at 7:55 pm #838966I’m so sorry you had to experience such a nasty thing! I grew up in California and will never, ever, ever forget the 1989 Loma Prieta Earthquake – we were at groung zero and my hubb’s family and mine lived out of state or out of country. We finally got a call through to my parents in England and they placed the call to Roddy’s family in Washington State 11 hours… that was really rough and I can SO empathize with you. I’ts awfull that your griffie was damaged but I’m glad that you and your family are safe and well. Hang tough, it may take awhile to not be so jumpy at after shocks, etc. but it does get better with a little time. HUGS

February 25, 2011 at 6:39 am #838967Just a picture of the affected Gryffin 🙂
February 25, 2011 at 12:37 pm #838968That’s not too bad at all (compared to some breaks I’ve seen) and should be repaired with some ease (again, compared to others). I know Cai repaired the foot on a griffin that had been completely turned to dust once!
If you cannot get it repaired, please let us know.

My art: featherdust.comFebruary 25, 2011 at 6:09 pm #838969Looks like a nice clean break, should be easy to fix (not that I’ve ever fixed one). Welcome to the forums, but I’m sorry about your pretty.
