I dropped this guy when I was cleaning them.I really shouldn’t do that when my nerves are bad.I couldn’t match the whites so I gave him a facelift ๐

My art: featherdust.comSeptember 17, 2010 at 4:08 pm #827174Yea, normally Windstone doesn’t like repaints for the fact they can be confused with a Limited Edition Windstones sometimes. I’ve done a few myself, but have always destroyed the felt pads & permanently marked them so they can’t even be confused, even if I die and all my stuff got auctioned off randomly. ๐ณ I guess that’s sort of morbid huh? LOL!

September 17, 2010 at 8:08 pm #827179AnonymousHmmm, not sure why you felt you needed to remove the picture…….lots of folks repaint their windstones, heck if you touch up or repair it its just about a repaint. I think the HOUSE RULE is if you repaint it, you just have to sign it and write that its a repaint – nothing wrong with that at all! You own it – do what you want with it. The only time an issue arises is during a resale and that’s why Windstone prefers you sign/write on it. Bodine, it turned out beautiful! and you should be showing it off!! ๐
September 17, 2010 at 8:49 pm #827180Bodine, to the best of my knowledge you are okay posting the photos here. I wasn’t at all suggesting that you remove it.. I wanted to thank you for being thoughtful enough to mark the photograph as being a repaint. That is actually genuinely very helpful! ๐
I’m actually very thankful (and I’m sure the folks at Windstone are too even more so!) that you guys self-police on the repaints and mark them so well. It is immensely helpful that they are marked and helps prevent confusion and possible problems down the road. The truth is that outside of someone doing something blatantly wrong that breaks the trade dress or copyright, no one can force you to do that so the fact that you all are so very cooperative in marking your repaints speaks to me of the wealth of respect and love you have for Windstone. To me that is nothing but a good thing! ๐ <3
Now, of course Windstone discourages repaints, but I know that realistically they still happen. They get broken and sometimes you can’t fix them like new and we have all been bitten by the painting bug. Windstone prefers that you didn’t repaint them– but to those that do, I personally thank you for marking them the way you do so that there are no problems. ๐
