So I have decided to sell alot of my Breyers. Only problem is I can not find a reliable site with price information. Also I am having problems finding a site to Identify which models I have. I have some really rare ones from Breyerfest 2000-2001. I also have 2 one of a kinds from the live and silent aution hand painted by Moody herself.
If anyone could please point me in the right direction that would be fabulous 😀July 13, 2010 at 5:47 am #821001Griffinlover wrote:So I have decided to sell alot of my Breyers. Not really a database of list prices, but it can show comparative asking prices for the current market – like eBay.
This site is probably not much help either but….http://www.modelequus.com/joomla/content/section/33/57/
Good luck in your search.
July 13, 2010 at 6:47 am #821002I would wait until closer to Christmas. Right now is not the best, because at the end of the month is Breyerfest, an annual get-together in Kentucky for Breyer collectors. So people are saving money for that and the Special Runs from there.
Ebay is probably your best best with good photos. Model Horse Sales Pages, link above, charges a yearly fee to list ads with photos and then sales are hit and miss. There are a couple of model horse only auction sites, but traffic is still better on Ebay.
You are most likely not going to get much for the regular runs, but if you are familiar with mold and model names you can get an idea, on the high side, on Pony Lagoon: http://ponylagoon.muerte.net/index.shtml.
There is also HaynetExchange, a Yahoo groups, where you can list ads for free. You could post ads there also. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/HaynetExchange/
I get the best results listing to Ebay and then posting to HaynetExchange and Model Horse Sales Pages that the auctions are up and running.
Hope that helps,

July 13, 2010 at 12:17 pm #821003…what Pegasus said! 😀 You might try finding Breyer forums-I know there is a huge community for collectors, like this Windstone one but on a much larger scale. Finding a forum will lead you to hardcore collectors who are 1-probably looking for what you have and 2-there will be a sale section where you can probably list for free 🙂
July 13, 2010 at 2:06 pm #821004side note…anyone going to breyerfest this year?
July 13, 2010 at 3:01 pm #821005I’ve never even heard of it but it sounds like it’ll be amazing!

July 13, 2010 at 3:21 pm #821006It’s a breyer horse festival held in Ky each year very near where I live. It’s held at the ky horse park, where alot of real horses also come for special performances. The celebration horse this year is one of William and Elizabeth Shatner’s….here’s a link to the website.

there’s also a trade/swap event afterwards at one of the historic hotels that I almost always attend. I love going to all the rooms, seeing everyone’s collections, and getting to trade out old pieces of mine for newer ones. “culling the herd” as it were . 🙂

July 14, 2010 at 3:17 pm #821008Thank you all!
I love my Breyer Horses and I love attending Breyerfest (my horses brother Romantico was the featured horse there a few years ago) but I need money for Dragon-Con. My sale on my Bengal Male Griffin #1 fell through and I am getting desperate. I am about to pick through my windstones as well but wanted to try the Breyers first. I know Christmas is probably the best time. Blarg. I will cross my fingers I make enough.
