I KNOW this may sound wierd since I did not know this person but yesterday Friday 6-25-10 a person in my building passed away
According to the story I heard she was just sitting at her desk and I guess doubled over (heart attack I heard) they called the paramedics when they arrived they revived her but she died on the way to the hospital
I looked her up in phone and saw she was a 2nd level manager and stopped by her desk this evening and they had a big note on her dry erase board saying we miss you already. They had a couple sets of flowers there too.
She just completed 30 years wtth at&t this last February
She worked hard all her life to advance her career and now she can’t even enjoy her twlight years
Why do we do all this just to die from stress before we can truly enjoy the works of our labor??Sorry just had to get this out

Its too bad that woman passed that early. That just goes to show that life is a gift, there is no proof that you get more than one, and its only as good as what you do with it.

Death is one of those things that you should not worry about because there is no getting away from it and everybody does it. If you spend life worrying about death, you have just wasted your life.
June 28, 2010 at 1:55 pm #818965Like ski said, death is just another thing that everyone goes thru – part of the cycle of life. Most people fear death because they are afraid of what happens after death. No one really knows for sure what happens when we die, most we can do is just to have faith in our God for those who believe, but one thing is certain that its going to happen eventually. I used to be afraid of it alot too, sometimes it still scares me a little bit if i let my mind wander into that subject, but for the most part i’ve come to accept it for what it is. Fear can come to rule over people, and force them to do things against their will, but over-coming that fear makes life much more free and enjoyable. Life is among the greatest of gifts, so enjoy it to its fullest while u can! 😀
June 28, 2010 at 2:17 pm #818966Well,death is something I have been TOO close to more than once already.I am definetly not in a hurry to get that close again anytime soon but it is inevitable.I think if more people in the world concentrated more on life than what’s going to happen after you die….well,I think they are missing the whole point of the gift of life.Live long and be happy….my secret to life 😀
Every act matters. No matter how small💞

Long live Windstones!!!June 29, 2010 at 4:04 am #818968It always freaks me out to see someone who is an athlete or otherwise exercised wisely, and then drops. As for death, I’m not afraid of it one bit. What scares me is any suffering that might come just prior to it. I’ve seen suffering in some close to me. In others close to me I’ve seen suffering and then seen death be a sweet release. But those are my experiences and I’m sure others are valid in their fears of death, for whatever reasons they may be. You can’t get around genetics however, anything in life in moderation (including the good stuff like exercise… don’t go nuts with it), and you should turn out alright, with a little luck from above as to avoid accidents and such. I’ve learned to overcome that one time fear of death, and learned that since I cannot change the inevitable, to rather except and embrace it. To look at it as something that will reveal some wondrous existence past this one; some new beginning as opposed to an ending. It’s how I keep my sanity and anxiety in check and it works for me.

June 29, 2010 at 3:42 pm #818970There are only 2 things that are certain in this life–death and taxes! I find it unfortunate that people die before they can enjoy retirement and the fruits of their labor. I’ve always been advised that as soon as I can get retirement benefits to take them! Death does cross my mind and the thing I worry about is what will become of my pets. I read somewhere that said death is just the next journey.
So for the time being, we could just try and live our lives to the fullest and enjoy each day we have and cherish our loved ones. There’s no getting around death.
June 29, 2010 at 5:54 pm #818971AnonymousDragon Master – Sorry to hear about the lady who passed, but it’s interesting to know that she has in some way touched not only your life, but people like us, far removed. Her death has brought about a discussion here, and for that she is not unknown. 🙂
I think that each of us holds a reason to be alive, and the ultimate goal is to make a difference of some kind, no matter how big or small. To live forever would most likely require that our memory be preserved by generations to come – those that achieve greatness seemingly do live forever; those of us who live simple lives can only hope that the future generations think of us once and awhile, to keep us alive. Eternity sure is a long, long time!
I’m just glad to have been. 🙂
