What do you do when you purchase something and paid with paypal, then it arrives and it’s broken at several places and doesn’t look like it’s made from the right material. So you contact the actual artist and she informs you it’s counterfeit.
      Now what?
She want’s the item. And it will be shipped to her but what about me?
No wonder it took so long to get this. 🙄

I’d put in a claim to Paypal, item not as described…and I’m sorry, that totally sucks…

Problem it was not purchased on ebay and the site it was purchased on she can delete her add anytime so it’s long gone. 🙁

I don’t think it has to be an ebay item to put in a claim. I’m not really sure but I think you have buyer protection on any purchase done through them. I’d call the resolution center to make sure though.

I’d put in a claim. It never hurts to try.

I can’t put in a claim since I’m not covered by paypal protection. 🙁
She asked me to send it as a “personal payment” in order for me to absorb the fees. Now I’m really in a jam. Paypal don’t cover personal payments

Since you did a “business” transaction as a personal payment, you may just have to suck it up and chalk this up as a learning experience. That’s the danger of doing doing business by personal payment. I’d rather tack on a few extra dollars to cover the fees so I’m protected than be in your situation where you have no way of recovering your losses.

What an awful predicament!! Why does your artist want the fake item returned, and of course, on who’s dime is it being returned? If they are paying for return shipping, they should be willing to refund the money, especially acknowledging that it’s a fake?! Well, if they weren’t paying for anything then I sure wouldn’t return it. Almost sounds like you bought a fake Windstone, and authorities should be involved? Depending on what type of ‘fake’ it is, maybe you should be contacting your local authorities, I don’t know. Sorry that you are going thru this type of trouble. I hope it didn’t cost you too much in the monetary department 🙁 :hugs:

I did pay the fees..this way she didn’t have to pay them so she had everything to gain not me. 😡

Tes it did cost me alot…I was planing to finish it and then resale it for a profit of $300 to help pay for expenses to finish getting the appartment adapted for my son since most of my savings went to the vet. Now I’m in the hole of $225 and i don’t even have any money left in my account! 🙄

I thought personal payment was used to avoid paying fees by both sides? When I mentioned tacking on a few extra dollars it was so it would cover the fees the other party would have taken out when they receive the business transaction marked payment (or whatever it would be called so it would be covered under paypal’s protection clause).

First of all I would ask the artist (?) to refund 100% of my money plus the cost of returning the item before I would send it back . Then I would still notify Paypal and explain to them what has happened. Even if they won’t cover it this would make them aware of what this person has done and possibly prevent this from happening to somebody else. Sorry I know that doesn’t help you and I am sorry this happened to you knowing what your financials are.

You might also talk to your local law enforcement officers and see if they think anything can be done like fraud charges, etc.
