Is this the breed you are looking for?

        Albino Siamese

No. It’s called a European Albino. It’s a type of European shorthair.

Since albinoism is a mutation, I’m having a hard time understanding how this is a “breed”.

I’ve found pictures of albino cats, but nothing about the European Albino. I wonder if it’s a general term like American Shorthair? Still looking though, all that I’ve been reading is saying the cats that have albinoism are generally unhealthy and most often deaf. Hard to make a new breed when you have less then stellar stock to breed with.
I wonder if the deafness is related to the theory that horses that lack pigment on the inner ear have more of a chance at deafness?

Wow. I just read the homozygous form of albinoism in cats results in death. It’s the same with the Overo gene in horses giving lethal white foals. That paired with the deafness is an interesting link.

Not sure if it’s european or not: Would have to contact the person that posted it
Since it’s just a kitten it doesn’t have the shape of the adult so hard to tell

Isn’t it interesting how the pigment (or lack thereof) can so severely affect survival rates/body function?

I’m curious. Where’d you hear about it? Why do you want a picture of it?

So, I’m seeing the “breed” is experimental… That would tell me the “breeders” are using any cat that exhibits the pink eyed albino gene. Because that gene is a mutation, I would expect the breeding stock to be a hodge podge of white cats, whether it be a siamese type or domestic mutt.
So I would guess the prize goes to BDW!

Isn’t it? Sadly, there are some breeders that would chance that 25% death rate just to try at a colored animal. They don’t understand that it puts them back at only a 25% chance at a live colored offspring. 😥

This is the closest I have found but I don’t think it is what you want: http://www.messybeast.com/whitecat.htm

I have seen so many cat pictures – I tried going through breeders and their pictures but no luck. Also tried rescues but found out (again) that if there is any chance there is even a trace of a breed in a cat they will call it a purebred in order to get the cat a home. So I found some pictures of cats labeled European shorthair who clearly were not. I give up. I wish everyone else luck!

Edit: missed some posts while searching. I like the picture of the white British shorthair – that is a beautiful cat!

I previously tried to put one of their cat picture on the forum but it gave me a pic of the “messybeast.com” instaid so I deleted the post.
                          Interresting info in there. 🙂
