If whomever won the flapcat “Buffy” off of ebay lately wants to part with him, I would gladly like to work out a fair deal. I lost my 20 year old cat last week who looks exactly like this one. I grew up with this kitty and he got me through a lot of hard times….it would mean a lot to me to have a Stray Cat that looks like him. 😥 Thanks.
June 9, 2010 at 3:30 am #817374I am sorry about your cat, daydreamer. 😥 It is so hard to lose them; they are like members of your family, and twenty years is a long time. 😥
The member who won him also has a cat that looks like Buffy, and she was really keen to get him for that reason. I doubt she would want to part with him, but you never know. It doesn’t hurt to ask.
June 9, 2010 at 4:31 am #817375Oh no… I am very sorry to hear about your cat daydreamer. I have one myself who is pushing 22 years old… I’ve had him since I was 6 year old and I’ll be lost for a while when he passes away. I have to confess, I was the one who won Buffy. I happily rushed home early from my vacation day just so I could bid on him. He’s remarkably identical to my cat Jet who is also very dear to me. I really have to think about it. I mean, I haven’t even got him yet, and I really had my heart set on him. 🙁
Melody made a second Dalmatian Pig when I asked her. Maybe she can make a second one similar to Buffy? She might have one lined up already. She made more then one Abyssinian and also more then one Flame Point. It’s worth a try anyway… if I consider selling him I will give you first dibs, but I honestly don’t know if I will just yet. It’s just too soon to say… I’m really sorry…
I just wanted to respond and let you know instead of just not saying anything. 🙁

that’s okay. go ahead and keep him. i just wanted to ask. i guess i’ve just been having a tough time accepting the fact that my Mr. Kitty is gone. i’m a wreck. sheesh. Mr. Kitty found me when I was in 2nd grade (september 14, 1991)… he was a stray cat and came home to stay ever since then. i called him ‘Socks’ at the time because he looked like the cat on the cover of Beverly Clearly’s book of the same name, which i had just read in school. later on i renamed him Mr. Kitty because he didn’t really have ‘socks’ like the character he was named after and it felt silly. although, come to think of it, he did have a foot fetish so maybe it was fitting after all. i can remember crying to him and telling him all my troubles as i grew up (about boys more often than not, lol) and he always seemed to know when i needed comfort. i have since gotten to know seven other cats over the years and there was never quite the connection.
its amazing the connections we have with our animals. thank you for letting me know. i am so glad he went to someone who has a deep appreciation for him. definitely keep me in mind if you do ever decide to sell, but i can see that you really need him as much as i do. if there is another like him that Melody does, fantastic. i don’t want to bother her to make something that she doesn’t want to or have time for. besides, i hate having to fight for stuff on ebay. i’m no good at winning things. 🙄 chances are, she would make one and i would end up losing anyways.
sorry for the long winded answer. i guess i just had to get it off my chest.. and thanks for listening if you read this far.
June 9, 2010 at 11:46 am #817377Sorry about your kitty, daydreamer. I understand about that connection thing with a special cat. I had that with my kitty, Katie, who passed in August of 2008 (has it been that long already? It still feels like last month or something). I think there are a few of us on here who understand. 😥

I think there are more than a few of us who understand…….
When you get to be my age, you will have seen two generations of cherished pets come into and exit your life; some leave behind an impression that will touch you every day of your life, and it is a warm touch. I am adding memories every day, creating more, for the next generation. 🙂
The federal government really needs to recognize the fact that animals, once given a name, become family and should be recognized as such. To take care of family members, we need health insurance, and should be able to claim them as dependants on our tax returns. This would only help to increase revenues by encouraging folks to get annual physicals including SHOTS for their pets, having them neutered/spayed and better taken care of, because their humans in turn would get some type of tax credit at year end for having done those appropriate things.
Got off topic, sorry….. time heals, memories survive <3
June 9, 2010 at 2:57 pm #817379Bigs hugs to you daydreamer! Our furbabies are most def ‘family’ members – Oh, and me boyohs say to let you know that you’ve just been “twin tackle hugged” (It’s quite the experience to get one physically, in real life… think really, really squished peanutbutter sandwich or squashed Oreo cookies…)

June 9, 2010 at 4:40 pm #817380I`m sorry about your loss daydreamer! I`ve experienced losing beloved cats twice myself… It is never easy…
*hugs*
June 9, 2010 at 4:46 pm #817381So sorry, daydreamer, about the loss of your kitty. 🙁 You’ve got plenty of company here when it comes to connections with their pets. 20 years is a long time–I’ve never had a pet that long [dogs don’t usually live to be 20], but I can relate. Sending you plenty of {hugs}!
June 9, 2010 at 4:58 pm #817382I’m sorry for your loss, Daydreamer 🙁 * big hugs*.
It’s so hard to lose a pet. It hurts so much. I have a diabetic kitty going on 17 years. I think i’m going to have to be committed for a while when he passes 😳 . You have got all of us here for support and understanding.June 9, 2010 at 7:04 pm #817383I know how you feel, daydreamer, and it is a hard place to be. I lost four cats last summer during a three-month period, all from different causes. It was like a never-ending nightmare. 😥
We have one who is diabetic and gets two shots a day; another has to be given two thyroid pills a day. They are doing well enough right now, but I dread going through losing them. There are many forum members with cats and dogs, and I am sure we all feel your pain. 😥
June 9, 2010 at 11:09 pm #817384thank you so much everyone!! **big hugs!!** if anyone would understand, its definitely you guys. i was really hesitant to post anything about it on the forum in the first place, but i’m actually kinda glad i did.. i haven’t had much an opportunity to talk about it, and it really does help to get it out. again, thank you all for your generous support and kind words. it really means a lot to me!! <3
June 10, 2010 at 1:15 pm #817385Some kitties just get into that special place in your heart. I def. understand and offer you lots of hugs. My JouJou has been gone since 2001 and I still miss him….and have gotten an adorable kitty sculpt painted with his facial markings as recently as last year. I’m sure something beautiful will come up for you to remember him by.
June 11, 2010 at 8:33 pm #817386I’m so sorry for your loss. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. *hugs*
