Went to Utah on Thurs. to see my podiatrist and internest. The good news is that the CT Scan they did of my brain, proves beyond a shadow of doubt that I am NOT and air head. I really do have some grey matter rattling ’round in there. They still haven’t found out why my hands are numb and I have no fine motor skills at all – it’s all very tediously boring….. That same Thurs. just as we get to Utah for the first appt. I get a phone call from Roddy. It is 3:00 in the afternoon and he’s calling me from home, which is really weird because 1) he never calls me during iunch hour and I’m only allowed to bother him if the house is in the middle of a major conflargation and me behoys are dancing on top of the pyre; though I really don’t know which would be worse; burning down the house or aiding and abeting to purt the mental health spreacilists in there very own padded cells 😮
So, answered Roddy’s call and he is at home. He never come home. Not even if the plant is in a pile of rubble. He’d gone into work just like usual and was working on the next HUGE project when his boss sticks his head in the door and tells Rod to pack up his stuff; a sucerity gaurd will soo him off the property and take back his officd key. Rod will be employed throught the last day of April and then he will no longer by employed by Agrium. Needless so say we’re all tied up in knots, headaches, migraines you namt it. Looks like we’ll be living off the tax return instead of spending it on somthing frivolous. Gotta get my Carpal tunnel surgery done before our insurance run out in April.
The problem with all this is that it took such a loooooooong time for the boys to settle in and make friends and find a niche in school where they can excell at things like cross country, musical theater and quiz bowl and not just focus ubber intently on too many video games, overreactive imaginations. I’ve been tring to scrimp and save for one of Melody’s gorgeous mama griffins to help the two old batchelors keep a fairly tight lid on the the griffy chaos – But I guess I’ll have to wait and see if shee does anything i future. Me Boyohs are lobbying for a job in Corvalis – They want Roddy to find a job in Corvalis so the boys could work in the factory and be paid in Windsgtones 😮

February 14, 2010 at 8:20 pm #806042Ohhh. I’m so sorry. 🙁
This happened to me last January, though, I didn’t have health issues to deal with (did have a divorce I was going through, though). Things will work out, but it doesn’t take away the stress to know that. I was one depressed person until I was employed again. Good luck, and I hope that a new job comes soon, and I hope you don’t have to move.February 14, 2010 at 8:37 pm #806043so sorry to hear this! that’s just horrible news… i hope things get better soon!
February 14, 2010 at 9:04 pm #806044Any reason for the letting go? Any chances of finding something else in the same area?
Take it one day at a time. I have and it helped.
Big hugs!

February 14, 2010 at 11:35 pm #806049That totally sucks! Believe me, I know exactly how that is–got laid off myself January–came into work, the boss called me in and handed me my check! Good bye and FU!! I hope you don’t have to move–you really don’t need the hassle! You will be in my thoughts as I wish the best for you and your family! I know how it is to just look and not buy—I’ll be in that mode for a long, long time! You have to take care of the necessities–I just wish that things would start to get better–looks like we almost have a whole nation unemployed and that’s not good for anyone!!!!!!! 🙁

My art: featherdust.comFebruary 15, 2010 at 9:27 pm #806054Completely and totally blindsided by this; a week ago Roddy could walk on water. The severance package is strange – he can still work at his old job until the 30th of April and then he’s done there. That’s the severance package. If he doesn’t go into work, he doesn’t get paid. Roddy is a mechanical engineer with an empahsis on production, processes and robotics. This was his “perfect” job because it got him out the rat race in the city and put him back out into territory where he grew up. Our friends are all stunned as well. None of them had any clue it was going to happen, not any people in HR who seem to know every thing. I don’t want to be moved further from my family. The boys have Finally settled into school here and are doing well in theatre and track and cross country. California is no longer home, neither is Washington State. I still have big issuses with Utah but we can’t stay here because there are no jobs. And how in the world are we gonna sell this house? More than 1/2 the town is up for sale…
